Ever Just Want to Give Up and Get On The Dole? ~ Vanity

Posted on 07/09/2014 11:03:35 AM PDT by GraceG

Ever wake up somedays and wonder why you work and put in the effort for others to leech off your hard work, especially those who are not even citizens.

Ever just think about just throwing your arms up in the air and saying to hell with it and quitting your job or shutting down your business and becomming a deadbeat like the other people that some of your hard earned tax money goes to.

Ever just wonder if we will never wake up again as country if you keep working hard to prop stuff up. Realizing that the only way for waking up the people would be for everything to just collapse and instead of trying to stop the collapse the best thing would be to rip the band aid off.

Ever just want to give up, walk away, move away, leave, tune out, and drop out....

Somedays, I admit, I do... and more often with each passing day....

Thankfully I still bounce back, but it seems harder each time...

I like to fish. I know a lot of guys on the dole who spend a lot of time fishing. It would be nice, but I have a conscience. Sometimes I wonder why, though. :(

I feel your pain.

If you do that you become the parasite that most (if not all) of us despise.Stopping work because you’ve reached a reasonable retirement age (or have won the lottery) or because of a *genuine* health issue is absolutely fine.Otherwise....no respect from *me*.

Just because I entertain such thoughts doesn’t ever mean I will act upon them, but I do war game out these things.

It’s important to maintain life skills.
Because some day, those on the dole are going to find the dole has run dry and many will suffer terribly.

40% fake money is not viable on an ongoing basis. I wish I knew when the markets would puke it up so we could all get rich but I’m not that astute.

In any event, God bless.

I nearly reached the tipping point when a guy I bought a couple drinks for opened his wallet to pay for his tab and his EBT card fell out. I thought to myself, “Great. I’m paying him to have drinks with me.”

I know what you mean. I got a bonus at work this morning. They give you the gross amount and then I get the check. It’s then when I get upset about the the taxes taken from the bonus and the crap that it’s being spent on.

I think think of my parents and grandparents and know that I’d be letting them down, as well as my spouse and daughter, if I wasn’t working hard.

My biggest concern is that the lower middle class is getting swallowed and the middle class is next. I feel like many of us are working awfully hard without a lot to show for it these days.

My comment sounded mean and I didn’t mean for it to - I understand your post - somedays it does seem like we are idiots for working and paying taxes.

At times same here but I get back on the highway to come to the office. Besides I am a white male who doesn’t vote or think the right way so I wouldn’t get enough to even bother with.

If I were to “Life on the Dole” I would use my SNAP card to stock up on canned foods and water and use the government resources to build up stockpiles and my time off to excersise and train myself.

Of course buying actual food with my SNAP card would probably get me red flagged in the SNAP system no doubt...

After college, I had a stretch of unemployment.... I didn’t like it AT ALL.

I was a basket case and couldn’t begin work soon enough.

I never wanted to go on the dole but I’ll regret to my dying day not starting a synthetic solar windmill company.

Negative. Quit the job and go live in the woods, yes. Government handout? Nope.

I do not feel that way. Yet.

But only because the State has not yet squeezed me dry. When the Obama-fascists take my retirement account, when they take my hopes and dreams of providing for me and my family, when they take whatever freedoms I have left, especially my freedom to speak freely and worship; then I’ll feel that way. And more.

Then I’ll go renegade. Then I’ll join the masses in fighting against the enemies of the state, which is - of course - the State itself.

Is there ever a time in which accelerating the collapse is seen as a viable option for a reset?

There may be days when my job drives me crazy, but it still pays a lot better than unemployment or welfare so no, I’m not tempted.
