Ever Just Want to Give Up and Get On The Dole? ~ Vanity

Posted on 07/09/2014 11:03:35 AM PDT by GraceG

Ever wake up somedays and wonder why you work and put in the effort for others to leech off your hard work, especially those who are not even citizens.

Ever just think about just throwing your arms up in the air and saying to hell with it and quitting your job or shutting down your business and becomming a deadbeat like the other people that some of your hard earned tax money goes to.

Ever just wonder if we will never wake up again as country if you keep working hard to prop stuff up. Realizing that the only way for waking up the people would be for everything to just collapse and instead of trying to stop the collapse the best thing would be to rip the band aid off.

Ever just want to give up, walk away, move away, leave, tune out, and drop out....

Somedays, I admit, I do... and more often with each passing day....

I hope you’re right. I hope people don’t give up their guns when ordered to.

I know I won’t. They were all lost in a horrible boating tragedy anyway. (I see a lot of us are having those same sad problems..)

Yeah, I can’t compartmentalize. Once I know something like that about someone —if I find out they supported Obama, democrats, etc. — I can never look at them in the same light again.

Lots of foster parents and guardians carry EBT cards. It is often because a court has ordered these benefits for the charges. I wouldn’t be so quick to draw conclusions just because you see a card.

A version of this is my plan for sure. I plan to buy a plot of land for cash and put up a few tiny houses, say three. Continue raising my own food (pork, chicken, veggies, lamb) and rent out two of the units for help and a little cash. Off-the-grid, no utilities. Bills are WAY low. Go on all the assistance programs I can and call it retirement. Overall I consider it to be a return of stolen property, hence defensible both logically and morally.

Maybe when the kids grow up.

I’ve been pushing my husband to live a simpler, self-sufficient lifestyle for years now. I planted the seed and he’s finally decided he’s tired to working to support this fascist country. We don’t need ‘stuff’ all that much.

One of my two grandfathers came here from [redacted] with essentially the clothes on his back, and a desire to build something better. He worked in a factory, built 3 businesses, served in the US Navy, married a good woman and raised three fine sons; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren carry on his legacy of faith, family, honest work, and Service. The political elites, illegal aliens, and welfare parasites spit in his face (and, by extension, mine) and crap on his legacy ... I shall not join them. To Hell with them. Don’t give in to despair; in your darkest moments turn to The Lord. Honest labor is one of His gifts to us. He who built the whole of creation made us in His Image and Likeness. In our honest work, we reflect His Honest Work.

I see a lot of us are having those same sad problems.

Ever ask yourself why we're having those problems? It's because, once again, we have consented and been entirely complicit in the destruction of the 2nd Amendment. I do not see where the 2A states "Shall not be infringed, as long as you have a background check". We all know they are keeping the records of our purchases. The FFL is required to keep them for 20 years. If it weren't for those FFL dealers willing to urinate all over the Bill of Rights just to make a little cash...if it weren't for us who CONSENT to that destruction by purchasing from FFL's, we wouldn't have nearly the amount of "boating accidents" we have today.

I have a tiny condo on Florida’s forgotten coast. I’d like to go there, get on the dole and spend my time kayaking, going to the beach, riding my bike, fishing, and maybe writing.
But my dad and grandfathers would haunt me and I couldn’t provide for my daughters as I ought to.

Do you propose buying and keeping a gun illegally then? That could have it’s own consequences. Although I’m all for civil disobedience. But we have to be willing to pay the price.

I’d rather purchase one legally, then have it be ‘lost’ at this time. When CWII progresses, things will change.

When I retired after 39 years in the military, I got a part time job as a park ranger. I didn’t like the hours, so found a daytime job that is about 32 - 35 hours per week at the local hardware store.

I have always been a working man and am afraid I would turn into a tub of lard. I hit 208 after sitting behind a desk for about 20 years, and now am back to 177 since I retired from that job.

My answer is NO WAY.

Isn’t that the allure and ultimate poison of socialism rather than liberty as a form of government.

Governments with the ultimate goal of liberty, Free Republics, have the structure to promote self-reliance and work allowing individual liberty.

Governments with the ultimate goal of equality of outcome and government being empowered to “effect change” and manage all results count on the citizenry reliant upon that loss of liberty that is dependency.

The goal of the later government is a compliant and needy proletariat giving little to society except their progeny. A few elite, enlightened leftists, get the only measure of freedom and that even is limited to the freedom of power, the freedom and risk of a tyrant or group oligarchy.

The Marxist promise of Workers of the World Unite, You have Nothing to Loose but Your Chains, is the promise of the socialist dream of government. The unity is unity in surrender and the resulting loss of the promise of liberty.

No. They have to keep them as long as they stay in business. If they sell the business, the new owner has the same responsibility including the old records. Otherwise, the FFL has to turn the records in to the ATF Out-of-Business Records Center.

Well, er, huh, I think what you say has merit but remember what the Third Reich counted on for victory. One armed soldier to control a group of several hundred too terrified to rush him for his weapon. We now know how well that worked for them. Today, one must also factor in the use of armed drones remote controlled by mercenaries to target all with their weapons of choice (bio, chemical, etc.,)for culling mass populations. Doesn’t everyone just love my optimism?

There is conflicting info on it. 27 C.F.R. § 478.129 states that such records must be maintained for at least 20 years.

18 U.S.C. § 923(g)(1)(A) (ATF) gives no limit.

I got a bonus at work this morning. They give you the gross amount and then I get the check. It’s then when I get upset about the the taxes taken from the bonus

I hear you on that one. Our company used to offer small awards--$50--for performance above and beyond and all that. I got one of those awards in the form of a $50 gift card.

Well, the next pay period, I noticed my paycheck was short by $23. After asking around, I discovered that they had deducted the taxes on the $50 "bonus" from my paycheck. Next time someone nominated me for one of those awards, I told them thanks, but no thanks. Why bother?

I’ve seen real institutional persecution of Christian brethren in the third world.

Trust me when I tell you that as Americans WE ARE NOT READY TO ENDURE WHAT MOST OF OUR BRETHREN SUFFER.

That was a painful lesson, I, myself head to learn about MY OWN FAITH.

We’ve all been infected with the Health/Wealth Osteenification of Christianity in this country.

When you are sick, miserable and without the comforts we take for granted, such as water, electricity, A/C and are constantly at risk of being beaten, cheated, harassed and those you love beaten and even killed - much of what we assume about our faith and Jesus saving us out of every trial is just a mirage of our own culture of prosperity that we grafted onto Christ.

Brethren in the Third world will enter the Kingdom before we will.

I think there is a lot of denial about what family and so-called friends who are "on the other side of the political spectrum" are capable of doing to their own friends and relatives. Darkness hates the light. "Getting along" with them is a delusion.

These are the people who are capable of the worst persecution and damage, because they know our habits, deeply-held beliefs, and weaknesses. Their loyalty is to the beast system, because the beast is their god.

I was reading some comments the other day on a Yahoo article about the cop who killed his wife, kids, and MIL, and then himself. This was a LEO who had drugged, raped, and filmed his assault on his wife, and had even shown it around. Many of the comments were critical about how the wife confronted her psycho criminal husband, because it obviously enraged and set off the psycho.

Not blaming the victim(s) for the acts of a crazed lunatic, but they were pointing that there were wiser ways to handle the situation.

There were many personal anecdotes from those who left without tipping off the abuser, or left quietly when the lunatic was away from home. Some described taking months to plan out their escape, and made sure to keep it to themselves. Some were threatened and persecuted, but ultimately they got out alive with their kids.

People need to consider how much their beast-loving associates know about them, how much access they have to their lives and kids (and fix that!), and what these nuts could do if "dissed" or "crossed", because things *will* go south. Bad enough to have some anonymous goverment goons after us, but why just hand over the keys to people we already know are in agreement with the dark side?

That’s why we are quitting work next year and will set up a homestead that can be somewhat self-sufficient. We will quit contributing to a fascist government. And will wait - if CWII comes, we will be ready. (As long as it doesn’t happen in the next 8 months) I am so disgusted with what is happening that I am almost hoping that a chance to rebuild will happen. We have a second home (fully paid) in the north woods of a northern state and we have the resources to live a comfortable but scaled back lifestyle there. My wife refuses to do so at this time so we are both cought up in this infernal rat race.

It might just take some time. And for events to play out in this country that will scare her. We had a wee cabin in the Sierras and had planned on doing the same thing with it 'someday'. Hubby just wanted to keep making money for an indeterminate amount of time though. In my mind, the cabin was our retreat and we could at least go there if things collapsed.

One day he came home from work, saying the boss was trying to get him to do something unethical. He had to decide if his days there were numbered or not. I wholeheartedly agreed that he should do the right thing, job or not, so he reported his boss. The whole episode turned him off working there. It even turned him off working at his current occupation. He had just hit a wall.

So you never know what might happen to turn your wife around. We went from retiring at the cabin in 10 years to moving across the country back to the US and buying a farm in ONE year. Now, that was a big quicket than I wanted and is scary for me since we don't have the money saved I had calculated we need.

But if he's willing to go - and is now the one pushing the move - I'm going!

So, much luck to you. Things can change in strange ways. Keep me informed!

I was out of work once. My buddy ran the unemployment for this county (or however it was set up.). He kept telling me to come down and he would push it through.

I shrugged it off and started my own business.

That was fourteen years ago. The only govt assistance I take are the same legitimate tax deductions any small business owner takes.

I guess I could have “taken” more, but it just never felt right. I’ve learned not to judge others. But that’s mt story.
