Ever Just Want to Give Up and Get On The Dole? ~ Vanity

Posted on 07/09/2014 11:03:35 AM PDT by GraceG

Ever wake up somedays and wonder why you work and put in the effort for others to leech off your hard work, especially those who are not even citizens.

Ever just think about just throwing your arms up in the air and saying to hell with it and quitting your job or shutting down your business and becomming a deadbeat like the other people that some of your hard earned tax money goes to.

Ever just wonder if we will never wake up again as country if you keep working hard to prop stuff up. Realizing that the only way for waking up the people would be for everything to just collapse and instead of trying to stop the collapse the best thing would be to rip the band aid off.

Ever just want to give up, walk away, move away, leave, tune out, and drop out....

Somedays, I admit, I do... and more often with each passing day....

The idea they may write down student loan debt REALLY makes me mad. I am busting my butt to keep my kids with no college debt.
If I have to pay for someone else’s kids college debt; I will be very upset.

I wish I could.
I have a tiny condo on Florida’s forgotten coast. I’d like to go there, get on the dole and spend my time kayaking, going to the beach, riding my bike, fishing, and maybe writing.
But my dad and grandfathers would haunt me and I couldn’t provide for my daughters as I ought to.

Do you propose buying and keeping a gun illegally then? That could have it’s own consequences. Although I’m all for civil disobedience. But we have to be willing to pay the price.

I’d rather purchase one legally, then have it be ‘lost’ at this time. When CWII progresses, things will change.

You would have to renounce your citizenship, change your identity (after sending all your money to an off shore bank) and then leave the US for a while. But it could be done. But then, how could you live with yourself?

I'm proposing that the whole situation is our fault, as we have continued to consent. I dunno about you, but I'm tired of consenting to the destruction of my Country.

Maybe when the kids grow up.

Long ways for that. We took in a relative's child after her Mom abandoned her. So now I've got one starting college and one starting kindergarten this fall (and one in between).

You think of it even more when you hate your job.

I keep telling myself ‘be thankful you have one’.

It pisses me off royaly as well, I scrimped and saved and didn’t buy nice things so I could pay it off only to see deadbeats skip aross the finish lines with their hands being held by Uncle Sugar...

When I retired after 39 years in the military, I got a part time job as a park ranger. I didn’t like the hours, so found a daytime job that is about 32 - 35 hours per week at the local hardware store.

I have always been a working man and am afraid I would turn into a tub of lard. I hit 208 after sitting behind a desk for about 20 years, and now am back to 177 since I retired from that job.

My answer is NO WAY.

Isn’t that the allure and ultimate poison of socialism rather than liberty as a form of government.

Governments with the ultimate goal of liberty, Free Republics, have the structure to promote self-reliance and work allowing individual liberty.

Governments with the ultimate goal of equality of outcome and government being empowered to “effect change” and manage all results count on the citizenry reliant upon that loss of liberty that is dependency.

The goal of the later government is a compliant and needy proletariat giving little to society except their progeny. A few elite, enlightened leftists, get the only measure of freedom and that even is limited to the freedom of power, the freedom and risk of a tyrant or group oligarchy.

The Marxist promise of Workers of the World Unite, You have Nothing to Loose but Your Chains, is the promise of the socialist dream of government. The unity is unity in surrender and the resulting loss of the promise of liberty.

I’m 49 also , I closed my business in dec 2012 sold most of the equipment. I do not qualify for unemployment because I’m the one that close the business , 18 yrs of paying for unemployment down the tubes. So I took some roth $$ and took six months off and then went to work for another place for about a year. But he was an a$$ and a crook so I quit. I made a sign stuck it in front of my house and take what work I get.
About as galt as I will get, but no handouts from from the gov.

They ought to take away the right to vote for anyone under 70 who’s on the dole. They’re not participating in America the way they ought to and shouldn’t be able to vote themselves more benefits.

Damn right.Going to work everyday and putting up with the crap of serving the public and your employer and getting reamed with taxes just to support a government that stabs you in the back the first chance it gets.

I look forward to retiring after working since I was a teen.To hell with it.

My problem is that I’m sooo sick and tired of the Marxist bast##d in the White House (as well as too many limp wristed Repubs in Congress who won’t stand up to him)that I honestly wonder how I’ll make it through another couple of years of his horsecrap.

The FFL is required to keep them for 20 years.

No. They have to keep them as long as they stay in business. If they sell the business, the new owner has the same responsibility including the old records. Otherwise, the FFL has to turn the records in to the ATF Out-of-Business Records Center.

I’ve been pushing my husband to live a simpler, self-sufficient lifestyle for years now. I planted the seed and he’s finally decided he’s tired to working to support this fascist country. We don’t need ‘stuff’ all that much.

I have been trying to get my wife to realize happiness does not correlate to how much stuff a person owns.

We have a second home (fully paid) in the north woods of a northern state and we have the resources to live a comfortable but scaled back lifestyle there. My wife refuses to do so at this time so we are both cought up in this infernal rat race.

I sure hope I can soon convince her to let go.

Isn’t it (not-so)funny how you can pay into a system for years and then get screwed over while some pot head with a mental disorder like social anxiety disorder can live off gubermint bennies...

Yikes! Even worse! I was under the impression it was 20 years. And yet, we consent to it! Even worse, those FFL’s are making money, off you and I, while the 2A is destroyed.
