A 400-pound asthmatic Staten Island dad died Thursday after a cop put him in a chokehold and other officers appeared to slam his head against the sidewalk, video of the incident shows.

“I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!” Eric Garner, 43, repeatedly screamed after at least five NYPD officers took him down in front of a Tompkinsville beauty supply store when he balked at being handcuffed.

Within moments Garner, a married father of six children with two grandchildren, stopped struggling and appeared to be unconscious as police called paramedics to the scene. An angry crowd gathered, some recording with smartphones.

It’s truly outrageous. The police had no probable cause to arrest this man. He was not selling or even in possession of untaxed cigarettes
on his person or in his car. Just because he was selling them illegally in the past did not mean that they could kill him on a whim when
they just happened to see him walking down the street.

He was executed because he literally couldn’t comply with their “hands behind your back” or “on your knees” commands. It is extremely
painful and difficult for a person that big to kneel. My heart bleeds for his family.

Well said, TOL. I was sickened by what happened to this man, and my heart goes out to his family. This should never have happened. Never.

Indeed.

What I’d like to know is where during police training are their souls removed and replaced with demons?

Oh, yes. It is of primary importance that the JBTs make it home unscathed, regardless who has to die, so long as it is not them.

The words, “stinking cowards” keep popping into my brain.

Your comment is breathtakingly stupid.

I never said the cops were justified or correct. Or that they weren’t stupid, inhumane or cruel. Or that they didn’t unnecessarily escalate the incident.

All I’m saying, for the umpteenth time, is that cops necessarily have arrest powers and that anyone dumb enough to fight with cops when they are being arrested is going to lose, every time. If you think that makes me a Nazi, you’re an idiot.

If you think that makes me a Nazi, you’re an idiot.

Please read what I wrote carefully. I did NOT call you a Nazi.

Hint, the key word is mindset.

Your comment is breathtakingly stupid.

I think your comprehension skills are breathtakingly something or other.

You insults and hotheadedness is like that of many JBT we see on various videos. Scary..

I have calmly argued that fighting with cops out on the street is foolish. I would think that would be a reasonable position.

You, on the other hand, have introduced “Nazi” into the conversation. And you call me hotheaded.

Grow up.

Yer comments are ALWAYS welcome as far as I am concerned!

A reasonable comment on my part. A certain mindset helped Nazi's gain power and permeate society. The same mindset is spreading through our society.

Normalcy bias is causing many people to not see that the police are becoming quite brutal more often against citizens. The police are the front-line of the tyranny that is descending upon our Republic.

The thrust of your concern is that people should be obedient to the State. Few comments were shown for the fact that these thugs coldly murdered a fellow citizen -- quite scary.

Grow up.

nice mature comment -- lol

I believe his first mistake was engaging in conversation with the officers.
From there it escalated into his murder.

DO NOT TALK TO THE POLICE, EVEN IF YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT!

I wish every American followed this practice of keeping mum, there are so many
good reasons to keep quiet. One of which is not giving an officer reasonable or
otherwise unreasonable cause to act. Police are human and most Police have the
belief that their job is to BULLY any suspect guilty or not.

DO NOT TALK TO THE POLICE! Pass that on to everybody you know.

The police are forced to back off if you don't talk to them, they are forced
to make a decision of arrest, or to walk away since they cannot hold you without
probable cause. Not talking to them takes away their ability to LIE about
any given situation which they themselves can and often do to facilitate an arrest
so they can buffer their resume for promotions.

There were many times in my life where I avoided arrest (Stupid Drunk) by keeping
my mouth shut. Even as the officers tried to invoke a reaction by cussing at me
I kept my mouth shut. At that point they were forced to release me even after fights
because without anger in me they had no reasonable cause. They just wanted a reason
even if they created it.

The Police will LIE to protect their career and reputation in the Dept.
And yes, there are exceptions and the bad cops are the minority of
just about every Police Dept in the country. Just the same, shut your mouth!

Yeah I saw that yesterday. This is why moved out of NYC two years ago, well “escaped” is a better word. I grew up there and I just couldn’t take it anymore. It IS a fascist state! Thanks to liberals, this is what happens. when liberals take over just about every political office in a city, you get flat out hardcore fascism. Like I told a lot of people, living in New York city was like living in North Korea but with food. Every single aspect of your life is dictated and controlled and if the fascists don’t like you, or you do not bow down to the state enough. they WILL kill you! Anybody who is thinking of going there for vacation, stay the F away because you are setting yourself up for hell. You would have more freedom going to Iran than you would in New York city.

“A reasonable comment on my part. A certain mindset helped Nazi’s gain power and permeate society. The same mindset is spreading through our society.”

Yeah, calling people with whom you disagree Nazis is always reasonable and mature. Commie-libs love doing it.

“Normalcy bias is causing many people to not see that the police are becoming quite brutal more often against citizens.”

Yeah, so? I don’t disagree with that. How many time do I have to tell you that I never said the cops were justified or correct? Maybe they were justified and maybe they were not, but how is that question to be resolved? By the courts? Or by seeing who can win a brawl? Are you advising everyone who doesn’t want to be arrested to just duke it out with the cops? See who wins? Or should people who are armed when arrested shoot it out with the cops? Hope for the best?

“The thrust of your concern is that people should be obedient to the State.”

You’re full of crap. What I said, repeatedly, is that people who are told they are under arrest should submit to the arrest, and resolve the legitimacy of it later.

In fairness, the cops don’t write the social engineering Anti-smoking laws that jack the price of cigarettes to $14 a pack in New York City and made this type of arbitrage lucrative.

They are just the muscle, the button men sent in to enforce the personal orders Emperor Bloomberg the freelance tyrant decreed from his throne.

Bloomberg is like the orangutans in planet of the apes. The gorillas do the dirty work.

Continuing the movie analogy: the cops are like mongo. From blazing saddles.

“Mongo is just pawn in game of life”

I was at a 7-11 in Austin texas at age 17, getting a soda. Cop walked up to get a drink, I guess during a break. Being a friendly idiot, I said “Hello”. He glared at me and his hand went down to near his gun. I just backed off and left the place. It was that day I learned that cops are not your friend. Treat them as you would a wounded wild animal. Keep your distance, avoid at all cost.
