Having ashes in a HOF is definitely kind of weird.
When it takes until 2013 to induct Rush? I'll leave it at that.
Ian Hunter’s “Cleveland Rocks” has at the beginning a brief excerpt from a broadcast of “The Moondog Show.”
Rush should enter the hall in 2112.
Alan Freed used to play "Moondog's Theme" (on Epic) in the background and claimed in court that it was a coincidence.
Interesting. On this particular excerpt Freed calls himself “Alan Freed, the king of the moondoggers.” The song is from the late 70s, and that excerpt is preserved on the version I downloaded from iTunes a few years ago.
“Hello Uncle George.”
That just registered. That would be extortion, seeing as they publicize it when a band doesn't attend.
Is it a "suggested donation" or an actual bill? Can they get their award if they don't pay to be seated? Do bands get paid for performing at the ceremony?
I never donate a cent to their education program. Part of their lesson plans involve teaching kids about rap music. (I don't know much about rap music; it being part of "rock and roll" is beyond my comprehension)
The story that I heard, was that the ashes of a dead white guy were being moved out, to make room for some of the ethnic singer Beyonce’s dresses to be displayed.
I know that the Sex Pistols boycotted in part because of the fees they were to be charged.
Glen Matlock ended up playing the Hall when the Faces got inducted.
