Now isn’t this interesting...many liberal enclaves seem to have made the final cut. Go figure.
That criteria makes the highest cost of living areas “the best”.
So more cost on necessities and less available for personal choice activities makes the area “the best”.
Thanks for posting the info.
80% of these counties will tax you out the wazoo.
I got my CCW in Placer County, CA, when I was 22. Northern California was awesome and conservative back then. I’ve been gone for 17 years, but I can only hope it hasn’t changed much between Auburn and Stateline Nevada.
Relatives in Collin County (that is McKinney, north of Dallas for non-Texas folks) are concerned about being driven out by high property taxes, plus it is growing like crazy.
Note that the smallest county on this laughable list has 140,000 people.
Somerset & Morris Counties in New Jersey are Republican areas and fantastic places to live.
I am surprised that Hunterdon County didn’t make the high part of the list. It is one of the wealthiest counties in the US and a very beautiful area (also very Republican, except for Lambertville).
As is my current home,#10: Rockingham County, NH. The Conservative backbone of NH.
95% or more are in blue states. Notice a trend here?
Thank you for this list of the criteria used. I suspected it would be these types of factors that they were using. I am happy to be in the South where larger numbers of people here act on their faith in God. This will be a blessing after the collapse of our system.
Adair County Missouri #1
Deer hunting is great
Turkey hunting is great
Morel mushroom hunting is great
People are friendly and it never rains on the weekend
Douglas County (#2) is very, very conservative.
No more teachers union either. (now e have over 97% graduation rate).
In my view, two of their criteria are actually negative: high home values and high rental costs. “Desirability” is offset by congestion and unaffordability for the average person. I’m sure they’re nice places, if you are wealthy.
Love to see a breakdown of these “best” along racial lines.
If you believe this you live in another world.
Collin County never would have made the list without completing TX-161.
Stay out of the burbs around DFW airport, too. Now that the 114 project is complete, crazy TX drivers think it's like the freakin' autobahn. Of course, I love it! lol
I love being 45 minutes from Burleson, and the little slice of heaven called Lost Oak Winery.
No thanks to these ‘best’ counties.
Suffocating HOA covenants, high-priced snooty boutique-style groceries, traffic, narrow streets, social ladders, small housing lots, brutal taxes, restrictive gun laws.
“As is my current home,#10: Rockingham County, NH. The Conservative backbone of NH.”
Very nice !
NH & NJ two of the thirteen that fought for our liberty and formed the new nation. It’s sad that so many of our neighbors don’t appreciate the great gift we were all given by the founders.
