Saudi men have been banned from marrying women from three Asian and one African country as the Gulf state toughens the rules restricting marriage with foreigners, a local daily said.

Marrying women from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Myanmar and Chad is no longer permissible, Makkah newspaper reported.

It said the total population of these communities in Saudi Arabia has exceeded 500,000 people, citing unofficial statistics, implying that this might be the reason.

Is this religious bigotry, racism or good old nationalism? I really miss the simpler days in the 60s and Pan-Arabism.

Saudi men too poor to pay dowry for an Arab girl. Tough luck guys, can’t dilute the gene pool of the “best of all peoples,” according to Mo.

Of course the men from Chad, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar aren’t allowed to marry Saudi women, and are too poor to bring their wives to SA, if they have them.

Sounds like an intentional limiting of the gene pool...

And hopefully with the predictable results.

They can still go abroad and marry a 14 year old Pakistani girl for two weeks’ vacation, they just have to divorce her before they come home.

Pakistan and Bangladesh, I believe, have the highest and second highest Muslim populations in the world, respectively.

Indonesia may have passed Bangladesh recently, but they have a much less strict form of Islam.

A coworker from a former life told me that the cat houses in Djakarta do things that would make those in Bangkok blush.

Actually, the order is Indonesia, Pakistan, India (!) (basically tied with Pakistan), and Bangladesh, quite a ways back.

Unfortunately there is so much incest there these kinds of marriages should be required, not banned, in order to get a more healthy gene pool.

Obviously there aren’t enough first cousins in those
four countries to make it worth while or perhaps
there are still unmarried first cousins in SA.

The Saudi government absolutely encourages and subsidizes the taking of foreign brides. Apparently they are worried about too many from too few places.

Reason: The Saudis are horribly inbred and the proportion of children born with birth defects is staggering by western standards. It is not at all unusual for the children of two sets of related couples to marry. In effect, all four parents may be cousins.

Of course, as any honest Muslim medical man can tell you, this is a pattern throughout the Arab/Muslim world. The British National Health System is going slowly broke treating birth defects caused by consanguinity. These marriages would of course be illegal if white Europeans tried it.
