Ebola is deadly. It doesn’t take much of it to infect others. If it were as hard to catch as much of the officials have indicated, there would be no need for level 4 bio-containment in these “hot zones” - standard isolation measures would work. JMHO
Whatever happened to better safe than sorry? Seems like they just want everyone to assume we are all safe and there’s no danger.
Tell that to the people who were exposed to Patrick Sawyer.

With respect to the accuracy of these memes, color me skeptical. As with so many things, don’t be deceived by what is said. Watch what is done. Actions speak truer than words.
Oh yeah. The pic at the top of the NPR link I posted tonight says it all. The biohazard facility in Nebraska isn’t using ‘mask gloves and gown’ even with the mockup patient in a practice run. They’re using full negative pressure suits. Obviously they think the CDC is full of it as well.
Well then, those of us who are skeptical of the CDC statements are in good company!

Perhaps this is why the rumors started that the clinic’s “Only” wanted their blood rather than treating people and why some would not go to the clinics to be checked?

Last year I had my first bout with the flu ...after finally returning to work, in three days I came down with ‘another’ strain/type. Already still weak from the first bout I ended up a real mess! It was worse than awful and frankly I didn't realize how sick I was. You tell yourself it's just got to run it's course and you'll start feeling better in a week or so....but it wasn't happening. Finally I saw the Dr. who simply told me to keep doing what I was already doing!
I write this because these were ‘two different’ flu's...the first one was intestinal...the second respiratory.....So if someone is simply recovering from any other illness and Ebola strikes them...they are already in a weakened state....and how many days prior were they already infecting other people who might be caring for them with something else! What a mess this entire thing is!!!!
All the more reason to isolate communities, as we spoke of. I don't see how they can contain this without Quarantine.

But the people are already defying and not trusting the health providers anyway....and because of their superstitions etc. they continue to hide those who are ill.
If they’re Quarantined, and their communities, you lower the risk greatly.....with people dying it would seem you’d risk thier mistrust and save life’s despite their objections.
The problem they had before, when attempting a Quarantine, s they weren’t distributing food and supplies to the people so of course they would rebel.

Because most Ebola victims remain at home, it is critical to supply families with hygiene kits, containing disinfectants, gloves and other materials that properly instructed households can use to prevent spread of the virus among family members and from them to others. About 400,000 people live in highly infected areas of Liberia, according to an Agency for International Development official, but the United States will deliver only 50,000 kits in about a month, a number that will be augmented by other donors but will still fall short of the need.
So they're going to distribute PPE to these people? People who don't believe it's a virus at all, or who are functionally illiterate and won't know how to use the materials? That's going to be a huge help. /s
And they still cling to the official line:
The virus poses little threat to the United States or other countries with advanced health care systems that can quickly identify and isolate infected patients. The virus is not transmitted through the air from one person to another but requires direct contact with the bodily fluids of a sick person, as can happen while bathing someone infected, cleaning up vomit or burying one who has died.
