True and not a comforting statistic. But Duncan is not a statistic, but a person. There is a statistical 50/50 chance that some random Joe Ebola infected some part of the plane, but we don't actually know the numbers for Mr. Duncan.
Furthermore the guy puking blood on the flight into Nigeria only killed a couple people on the plane, the woman sitting next to him and some flight attendants.
Finally, if Duncan were symptomatic on his flight on the 20th, then he would be recovered or dead between last Friday or next Tuesday (6 to 16 days) That is of course a statistic, but it has more support than the incubation period statistic since the onset of symptoms means your blood is full of Ebola from head to toe and presymptomatic is not.
Well, it flew here.
What's going on here? Even in third world countries, clean up is done by crews in protective gear. How about dogs, cats, birds, flies, etc? Can they transmit this? I though the CDC was on top of this?
Obviously this is being orchestrated from the top down. I am sure the Government is facilitating ISIS plans to help create the pandemic. I used to be a skeptic, but now it's as plain as day. Obola is a fanatical Muslim who's mission is to take America out.
Texas Quarantine update via the Pandemic Flu information Forum —
Louise Troh (healthcare aide & girlfriend of Thomas Duncan)
son of Lousie & Duncan (13)
Youngor Jallah (35) (daughter of Louise Troh, stepdaughter of Thomas Duncan)
Aaron Yah (43) (fiancé of Youngor Jallah and father of children in household; works as a nursing assistant at Meadows Nursing Home)
Both households are under quarantine. All the children must remain out of school until October 17 or 19. Both families have been visited daily by health authorities.
Other individuals under quarantine include the EMS ambulance workers and presumably the deputies who entered the apartment with no PPE yesterday.
It would be helpful if media could obtain a complete list of the individuals currently being asked to quarantine themselves.
Ebola outbreak: Second patient arrives in Germany
A hospital in the German city of Frankfurt-on-Main has taken in an Ebola patient after he was flown in during the night under tight security.
After arriving on a medical flight from West Africa, the man was brought to Frankfurt University Hospital where he was placed in an isolation ward.
He is a Ugandan doctor who worked with Ebola patients in Sierra Leone.
It is Germany’s second case, with a man undergoing treatment in Hamburg after arriving from West Africa in August.
In West Africa more than 3,338 people have died in the world’s worst outbreak of the virus.
There have been 7,178 confirmed cases, with Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea suffering the most.
The Frankfurt hospital said the patient’s arrival had gone well.
“I am confident that the patient can get good treatment,” Professor Rene Gottschalk told reporters.
Staff, he said, had been trained to handle Ebola patients, adding “but still, the adrenaline levels naturally go a little higher when a real patient is brought in.”
Giving details of the sufferer, Hesse Minister of Social Affairs Stefan Gruettner said he had been working for an Italian aid organisation in Sierra Leone and had helped Ebola sufferers there before becoming infected himself.
