15 Answers to Creationist Nonsense
Scientific American ^ | June, 2002 | John Rennie

Posted on 08/12/2014 8:09:40 PM PDT by JimSEA

When Charles Darwin introduced the theory of evolution through natural selection 143 years ago, the scientists of the day argued over it fiercely, but the massing evidence from paleontology, genetics, zoology, molecular biology and other fields gradually established evolution's truth beyond reasonable doubt. Today that battle has been won everywhere--except in the public imagination.

Embarrassingly, in the 21st century, in the most scientifically advanced nation the world has ever known, creationists can still persuade politicians, judges and ordinary citizens that evolution is a flawed, poorly supported fantasy. They lobby for creationist ideas such as "intelligent design" to be taught as alternatives to evolution in science classrooms. As this article goes to press, the Ohio Board of Education is debating whether to mandate such a change. Some antievolutionists, such as Philip E. Johnson, a law professor at the University of California at Berkeley and author of Darwin on Trial, admit that they intend for intelligent-design theory to serve as a "wedge" for reopening science classrooms to discussions of God.

why would creationism find a need to define what no one truly understands?

let the evolutionist float inane non theories....

one need not theorize about alleged CHANCE evolution

Creation dates back to....DAY ZERO.....

as nothing..... from nothing leaves nothing...ALWAYS...everything did not SPRING FORTH from NOTHING

Gee, it’s nice everybody actually read and considered the arguments presented in the article.

>>This is a totally inept analogy and faulty reasoning. The program made those choices based on a specific endstate. Is evolution picking its choices made on a specific endstate? If it is truly random, then there is no specified endstate for the “program” to match. <<

Stochastism is a difficult concept for many to grasp. It should be an entry gate to almost every subject but we are too weak to posit that signpost.

When an article makes ridiculous claims at the start, the exercise is as useless as reading HuffPost. ID is not some creationist plot. How ridiculous. ID is just as valid, in fact more-so statistically, than the magical theory of the ‘big accident’.

This is yet again the expansive reading of the non-Constitutional concept of ‘separation of church and state’, to say that ANY idea that is not atheistic in approach, is invalid in the public sphere.

Scientists cannot prove evolution of the Human race so they attack religion.
Then there's the Alien theory of our creation to give others a cause.
And further down the line is reincarnation. The most absurd of them all.

I always tell evolutionists that if evolution is true, then God willed it.

I believe Darwin himself said essentially the same thing you just said. If irreducible complexity were to be shown it would throw his whole theory into question.

Sin led to death.
To thinks that there was death before sin removes the need for a Savior.
God's Word is True.
You can't have it both ways.

Get this through your head, you charlatan: there’s no such thing as anthropogenic global warming, the gay gene, evolution, or the Tooth Fairy.

I can loan you a lighter to ignite the straw men you have set up. Most people do 1 or 2 -- 4 is a pretty high bar.

It is inconceivable that the cosmos could have come into being in six days. It is also inconceivable that there could be such a miraculous interconnected ecosystem with its floura and fauna. The fact that the millions of intermediate forms do not exist is just inconceivable. By man, that is. Everyone knows that there is a pattern that connects. A stamp of identity on every natural wonder. Everyone believes that, given enough time [if he didn’t destroy himself] man could figure out just about everything. This common faith, in the human possibility, is what gives the athiest and the humanist hope for the future. What is intolerable is the notion that perhaps someone already has figured everything out. The Bible simply declares that this is the case. Someone is already there, in the infinite future where everything is known. This Someone has an identity that is imbedded in every living thing. Written. Man matters because he exists in the form that reflects that identity. Therefore man has meaning and worth, intrinsically. On this basis alone stand human rights and dignity. Islam is filthy because it does not submit to this reality. It’s submission alright but submission to a “demon” who eats the “souls” of men.

Knowledge and logic be damned.

Clarity is all about accurate knowledge, not a dreamed up Theory that has no basis on what we see from an actual scientific method perspective.

1. What is an “evolutionist?”
2. Evolution occurs independent of knowledge of God.

#3 is pretty low hanging fruit:

“... ignores important distinctions that divide the field into at least two broad areas: microevolution and macroevolution.”

No, actually it specifically cites these important distinctions to make the case that extrapolating “A” to prove “B” is UNSCIENTIFIC....As this author unintentionally makes clear in his weak statement intended to support:

“Microevolution looks at changes within species over time—changes that may be preludes to speciation, the origin of new species.
“May be a prelude”!?!?!? That’s pretty UNSCIENTIFIC!!!!

Macroevolution studies how taxonomic groups above the level of species change. Its evidence draws frequently from the fossil record and DNA comparisons to reconstruct how various organisms may be related.”

Well that’s cute, but the “evidence” in the fossil record is completely lacking!!!

As for the DNA comparisons, they conveniently ignore the fact that for well over 10 years we’ve known that the key building blocks for differentiation occur below the DNA level.

in fact more-so statistically

In Galileo's time the available data fit the earthcentric model better than the heliocentric model. That's why the scientists, not the clerics, attacked him.

As more data came in scientists changed their views.
