When one of my granddaughters saw a desk phone in my basement, she asked what it was, when told she wanted to know how you could make a call on such a phone...it totally confused her....good for a chuckle at her expense...I wouldn’t know how to use a smart phone.....generations are sure smarter/dumber. depends on the subject...
Ours was VAndyke 2.
Ha! My mom who in her early 70s upgraded from a flip phone to an iphone and my younger sister is tutoring her how to use it. My 5 year old niece is disgusted granny has no games on it!! Mom forgets it all the time. Technology takes some a while to get used too.
A friend of mine had an aunt who worked at the local phone co. starting out as an operator many yrs ago and worked her way up to mgmt. She was very knowledgeable of the mechanics of the old rotary and touch tone phones, but when she received a cell phone as a gift couldn’t figure out how to use it.
EDgewater 5 ... funny, after all these years and so many moves, I can remember “my” first phone number and address.
I love the Subaru ad where the dad has the young girl change a tire.
I have a forty year old BIL that I had to show how to change a flat.
How many young people can drive stick shift or jump start a dead battery?
