NASA Says A Thigh Bone Was Not Found on Mars

An image from the Curiosity rover that some people thought showed a “thigh bone” on Mars is just a photo of a weathered rock, according to NASA. The photo shows the dirt-covered surface of Mars littered with bits of rock, one of which is elongated in a shape similar to a leg bone.

The image was first picked up on a UFO blog, Space.com reports, purporting to show evidence of past alien life on the planet. The claim got so much attention that NASA released the photo with an official explanation — saying the object did look like a thigh bone, but it most definitely is not.

“No bones about it! Seen by Mars rover Curiosity using its MastCam, this Mars rock may look like a femur thigh bone,” the site reads. “Mission science team members think its shape is likely sculpted by erosion, either wind or water.”

Looks more like a petrified Harpy to me.
Guess Sheila J. Lee did come from Mars after all.

They’re still trying to explain these other odd, but natural, geological formations.

Look with all due respect it not scientific to state it is or is not something with out testing it.

Does it look like a fossilized bone... yes..

if there was fossilized bone would in look like this...yes

could it be just weather rock...yes

But without test you can not state it is one thing or the other..it just assuming it can not be what in looks like...

What kind of scientific method is that?

The only data we have on this is its appearance..

So you dismiss the only data you have on pure assumption

Rather then do the proper due diligence and collect more date to at least have something to validate that assumption?...

That is crap science method.. what is the point of going?

Ya know, with the recent (1/26/15)photo of what appears to be the shadow of a mechanic tinkering on the Rover, I revisited this topic and, my question is, ‘What are the chances of finding a bone of this shape in the desert in America?’ I think the chances are good.. So it makes me wonder where this camera is really sitting.. on Mars or in some desert in the USA.
Note NASA’s wording..... No bone was ‘found on Mars.’ If the camera is in America, then they are not lying.
