While these death hoaxes appear on Facebook and Twitter with relative frequency, the most recent iteration of the Sylvester Stallone death hoax looks to be slightly different. Most links point back to a specific domain that appears to be a "clickjack" attempt, inducing users to "like" a page in order to see the "shocking footage" of Stallone's purported car crash demise.

Would be believable 30 years ago. These days, the nearly 70-year old Stallone wouldn’t be racing a sports car, he’d be “old man in a hat” driving down the middle lane at 45mph, both hands clenched on the wheel, as other motorists pass him on the left and right, with some Leo Sayer song playing on the radio.
Oddly enough, that car wreck was in my little town. A guy had a heart attack and went flying down the highway into town at around 90 mph, jumped the curb and went into the mall parking lot, flipped over and caught on fire and died.
It does serve to keep ever fading actors in the limelight, I’m sure they approve, and take advantage of the faux reports.
