I don't get it. Obama 'pardoning illegals' does nothing.

Everyone is predicting that Obama will 'grant Executive Amnesty' to illegal aliens before Labor Day.

Can anyone explain to me what law, clause or Constitutional article Obama can cite that permits him the power to do such a thing?

Anything. I'll settle for anything.

Pardons wouldn't work. All that would do is forgive the past crimes of being in the country illegally. One microsecond after the Pardon was issued, all the illegal immigrants would be committing a new crime, the ongoing crime of being here illegally.

Pardons cannot be granted for future crimes, so that won't work either.

Just what is this lawless creep going to cite that permits him the power to do this?

If he has no power to do it, the States and the Republican conservatives in congress can simply refuse to cooperate.

Sorry about the ping-list misuse, but I’m not producing new content for Free Republic. I am interested if any of you have an idea on how Obama can do the above, legally.

Problem is there aren’t enough republican conservatives to stop this lawless act.

Yes, as far as the House and Senate go.

The Fed-level fails us.

How about a State-level refusal to cooperate?

‘pardoning illegals’ does nothing , Obama doesn’t arrest them anyway ,even if they commit murder

It will come down to the states.

Or rather, the handful that end up defying Washington (not including mine, of course).

Although I'm with them 100% I really don't know what they can accomplish.

So let me git this straight, you are daring to question the authority of our supreme ruler??

Has the ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY to do whatever he wants because NOBODY in any part of government will do a damned thing to stop him.

He’s doing what community organizers do.

“If you don’t go along with what I want there will be race riots”

Completely illegal but if anyone tries to stop him there will be race riots in every city.

Dude, CALIFORNIA???

I thought you lived in the United States, not some neighboring hostile communist foreign nation!

They can, and will, at the state level.

It's my understanding from what I've read and heard, that his legal reasoning will be “prosecutorial discretion”. Basically he issues an executive order that will direct the INS and Justice Department to no longer prosecute and attempt to deport large swaths of the illegal community, thereby giving them defacto legal status (or amnesty by omission). Now this “amnesty” won't actually give the illegals citizenship or even a permanent status, it is essentially just deferred deportation proceedings that will only last as long as the executive order does, any future president could void it with a stroke of the pen. But Obama is betting (probably correctly) that even if a Republican wins in 2016, they would fear the backlash and media generated sob stories if they rescinded it and ordered the illegals deported.

Remember the Global pardon for
Vietnam War draft dodgers who moved to Canada?

http://www.abajournal.com/magazine/article/jan._21_1977_carter_pardons_vietnam-era_draft_dodgers/

This will be the justification for the Executive Pardon...

It puts us further on the path toward having emperors, a path that is well-trod in history, see Roman Empire, French Revolution.

King->Republic->Emperor.

This is actually good in a perverse way as we reveal the underlying truth of the situation.

Not on this issue. Black people hate this threatened "Executive Amnesty". The U.S. Civil Rights Commissioner Peter Kirsanow blasted Obama about this. Black people will lose jobs to this "Executive Amnesty".

Not good enough. Pardons are effective against past crimes, but future crimes cannot be pardoned. Read this

It would create a bigger flood of illegals waltzing across the border.

He's already done just this. So how is this different?

It's like going to the store, buying a dozen eggs, bringing them home and showing the wife. Then an hour later, you show the wife the same eggs, and say "See! I even got more of them!"

Amnesty through Executive Order.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_order

Thousands of E/O’s have been issued since our nation was founded. Acutally Barky hasn’t issued that many in comparison.

Obviously, he can’t do it legally.

There’s a lot of things that he can’t do legally, but has,

and no one will stop him out of fear of being called names.

The rule of law no longer exists in the same way we were taught to believe in. Obama's rule of law is whatever he says it is to advance social justice. What is congress going to do about it besides posture? What are individual states going to do about it, besides fight lengthy legal battles and lose federal funding for pushing back?

In the meantime, the floodgates come completely down. The damage is done. Obama gets his way. The Chamber of Commerce gets their way. Republicans are relieved. Democrats are ecstatic. Convict and remove him with Impeachment? Gotta secure the senate first. Even if that happens, impeachment and conviction would not come to closure until well into Obama's end of term. In the meantime more chaos, friction and the level of heat that starts civil wars is at hand. Islam stands at the ready to take full advantage. Hope n Change.
