No, I haven’t and I think it’s horrendous.
Not suprising, though. We’re post-literate now, dontchaknow?
I don’t see where a few degrees of reclining makes a big difference. But if the seats are made that way, people will use them. Can’t blame them.
The anger some tall people are feeling is misplaced. Blame the airlines for reducing the distance between rows of seats. Blame the market for driving airlines to offer the cheapest airfares.
Don’t blame people for using a feature designed into their seat.
no I blame people for being inconsiderate. a boom box has the feature that allows it to be played at 11/spinal tap. people who use that feature designed for the boom box are inconsiderate and rude louts. Just bc you CAN do something doesn’t make you any less rude and inconsiderate for doing so. Maybe it’s just me, but by and large in life, I try to consider the people around me to some extent when I act.
The airline doesn’t hand out boomboxes.
Yes , people should try to be considerate.
This all happened cause some smug jerk installed a device to prevent reclining. Mr King of the World
don’t be obtuse, you see the analogy, because a device CAN do something doesn’t excuse the person using it from being considerate. but the world is full of selfish inconsiderate people like the woman who insisted on being able to RECLINE. Lots of times the seats are broken and they CAN”T recline, wonder how she determined that he was being proactive in preventing it? more power to him. I would not do it, but I also do not take any remote amount of care to avoid knocking into the reclined seat in front of me. Were I tall I would push back on it with my knees.
Obama enjoys playing a king
Likes to bum-rush his orders-
Wants instant gratification,
Higher taxes and open borders
And with each terrorist threat
He puts Jimmy Carter to shame-
Blames the CIA, gets his clubs
And hits the green for a game...
He is actually more like Nero
Fiddling while Rome is on fire-
When he is out, he is one CEO
No sensible company will hire...
Some of them even eschew capitalization at the beginning of sentences! ROR!
She paid for a seat that reclines. Nothing selfish about wanting to use it.
I have not flown in years, not since military travel was part of my life-and to xs’ point, I did let the cub sitting on my lap kick the crap out of the seat in front if the person in it reclined-especially on a short flight. I’m also tall and have used that as silent, smiling intimidation with rude, inconsiderate people since I was about 15...
If the leg room is short, be a decent person and don’t recline-you can take a nap when you get to your destination...
I don’t think that additional inch makes rest any more comfortable for the person leaning back.
A+++
Good stuff! Well done.
I’m having a late lunch of two boiled eggs, celery and tofu-I gave Husky girl some egg, which she likes, and offered her a cube of tofu which she ate and sat waiting for more, so I gave her another cube. Since the vet said she can have those sunflower kernels I eat, I’m going to guess that tofu is okay-it is just a veggie product made from soybeans...
Thank you-Carter came to mind when I read that Obama is due for a nuclear rabbit moment...
Good protein too. I’m having a turkey and colby jack sammich.
Yes it is packed with protein-so it is probably good for the dog, too...
I got a turkey, provolone and veggie whole wheat pita at the deli yesterday on the way home and had that with some grapes for dinner-it was too hot to cook or grill. I may just have some tuna, tomato and baby spinach for dinner this evening-it is in the mid-90’s again...
Speaking of hot-what is the latest in the AC saga?
We are getting the new unit installed tomorrow, by the guy who had offered to loan me a motor to get some AC in the meantime. His distributor is upgrading the unit to what is almost a 16 SEER for the same price as the 13 SEER and the installer offered to split the cost of a 10 year parts AND labor warranty with us. I’m giving him a deposit today and we’ll pay the balance over time.
Asking the person in front of you to refrain from reclining is one thing.
Installing a device to force that person to not recline is another.
It’s clear to me who bypassed civility.
That was my initial point. It doesn’t change the fact that seats have this feature and it should be expected that you can recline.
I’ve read where budget airlines are losing the recline feature. This may end up being one of those “remember when we used to fight about?” Things.
That is super-what a great deal-I know that is a load off of your mind...
The last couple of nights when Husky girl and I are outside, there have been some cows on the place up the road vocalizing in what is certainly an angry and threatening tone. Since it was setting off my dog and every other one for miles, the first thought was mountain lion, coyotes or feral hogs.
I ran into the guy who lives there at the gas station, and just had to ask what the commotion was-it seems that he bought three llamas for the place to keep away the predators when his cows are calving-even a mountain lion won’t mess with one of those vicious, kicking, biting things. Only problem is, the cows hate the llamas, don’t want to share a pasture or shed with them, and that is what all the racket is...
It has been my experience that asking the person in front not to recline produces remarks like f*** you, I paid for this seat, shut up and mind your own damn business, etc. I doubt that has changed-so in the absence of any attempt at civility or consideration, getting rid of the seat’s recline function seems to make the most sense...
