"Oh dear! Oh dear!" < /clutchingpearls >

Never has so much ink been wasted on a seventh-round pick who gets cut.

” Rams coach Jeff Fisher “remains a fan” but the Rams need practice help at other positions due to injury concerns.”

Injury concerns?
HIV or rejected propositions?
And coaches aren’t supposed to be “fans”, they are supposed to be impartial, dispassionate task masters who tell the team their basic jobs, motivate the players, and fairly punish idiocy.
They are supposed to coach, not cuddle!

Truthfully I’m not that big of a sports fan, but I remember when sports was at least something you could turn to as a distraction from the rest of the nonsense in the world. Now the nonsense is front and center. You have the Redskins insanity with people trying to force an owner to change the name of his property, then you have tons of media attention devoted to a player who isn’t good enough to be in the league but he’s attracted to other men so he’s considered important, and next there will be some kind of backlash over him being cut too. Makes you wonder what kind of stupidity will be next.

i am pleased... political correctness was not enough to sign him... good! i swear, a couple of days ago a couple of talking heads on ESPN were saying it was a long-shot that he make the team, but that he deserved to... wth? why does he deserve it? they were talking out of both sides of their mouths...

It’s not a great stretch to suppose that the St Louis franchise owners are homophobes. Isn’t that the standard Leftist response for this kind of “news”?

Bingo. And two mouths are always better than one. At least they can always blame the other for a faux pas.

The thuggish goon Michael Sam is not gay. Like all sodomites, he's a miserable, twisted deviant deliberately and brazenly disobeying God.

Nobody realizes ( or will admit to it) that the fix was in from the start. The NFL handled the Sam thing beautifully...

They had to draft him..otherwise there would be endless charges of homophobia. So the Rams stepped up and took one for the league. Less than 5% of 7th round picks ever make a team, so there wasn't much downside..but when the Rams picked him, it made NO sense..for the last few years, their D line has been among the best in the entire league...so where was he gonna play? He's far too slow to play OLB...and by cutting him the last day...they've removed any chance he had to catch on with another team.

They put Sam in a box, and tied it with a pretty pink ribbon..
