I live in Mesquite, TX. At this moment (10:15 pm) there are two police helicopters circling my neighborhood. One of them is blaring out a message about a missing 11year old girl.
Shelter in Place.
I was wrong too... agree shelter in place.
After the helicopters go away, you can make sure there’s no 11 year old girl hiding on your property.
Used to get the circling helicopters on the other side of the Metroplex, back in the day. I hope it all turns out well for you and especially for the missing girl and her family.
Also, the link is several hours old. The helis just flew away about 5 minutes ago.
there might in fact be a missing girl but what I think is almost certain is that they are trying to condition citizens to the concept of a helicopter blaring down audible mass messages.

I would shelter in place there. All the peanuts you can eat (and you can toss the shells on the floor!) as well as hand-cut steaks, fall-off-the-bone ribs, home-made sides and fresh-basked rolls. Not to mention all the cold beer you can drink. Sure, the line-dancers are annoying as all get -out when they dance to "Achy-Breaky Heart" or "Footloose" but after a few cold ones, you won't mind too much. If you join them, then you know you've had too much and it's time to go home.
Oh yeah, make sure you hide the dog in a closet before you go.
Something similar happened in my neighborhood once. I was out walking after dark. A helocopter was circling overhead. They spotted me, and shown a spotlight in me. They followed me for several blocks until I got home and entered my house. They were looking for a teenage girl who had run away from home. I guess she was dressed like me. She went home on her own later that same night.
Found no current alerts. Might have been a test to check what feedback would happen. Am probably all wet though.

it is possible that the permissibility of this feature is still being debated.
We’ve had one fly over to warn the neighborhood that someone had escaped police custody and was loose in the neighborhood. We were advised to stay indoors and keep the doors locked.
They do that every night at my house in L.A. For years now.
They were flying pretty low. They have been gone for several minutes now. Hopefully all turned out well. I’m pretty sure that Mesquite Police do not have any helis. Probably got Dallas PD to give a hand.
And if you have a small child then don’t step outside with them or you’ll get shot.
Haha!!
The LAPD operates the largest airborne law enforcement unit in the world. Your PD now probably has helicopters.
