RIP Mr. Behel. From what I’m gathering you really had the ‘right stuff’. I’m sure you made your friends and family proud.

I am saddened by the loss of a great pilot and a WWII fighter. In my opinion it is time to stop risking these priceless aircraft in racing. Purpose built race planes with race car engines could go just as fast while being safer.

It wasn’t a WWII fighter, it was a purpose built race plane.

I don’t understand your comment. From the story he was flying a single-engine experimental GP5 .

In this case, there was no loss of a WWII fighter.

He was flying a GP-5 Osprey.

RIP, Lee Behel. See you on the other side.

We knew a pilot who crashed many years ago. Flying a p-51 Pegasus.

I stand corrected. The source article had a paragraph about the 2011 crash, mentioning the P-51D. In the itty bitty picture on my phone the GP5 looked like a modded P-51.

I stand by my Statement that these WWII fighters should be retired from racing.

Jeez I'm getting tired of you infiltrating liberals, carting along your fearful, trembling, collectivist, safety memes and your half-assed understanding of NLP. Everybody is just a little child, resources are too scare, make everything illegal, nanny state is the only solution to the problems of life, and above all - attack anything men do. Marching women into the collectivist glory of demasculinized males.

You're so foul inside I don't have the words to describe you. Crawl away somewhere, you spineless fear whisperer, covered with the slime of your own insidious cowardice and poison words. Gah, you're SO disgusting!
