In light of today's revelation that the NFL was sent the inside-elevator tape, there is no doubt that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will not survive.
The NFL would be smart to appoint Condi Rice as the next Commissioner of the NFL. Besides being a brilliant individual... organized, effective, great negotiator... she is an African-American, and a female (and a huge football fan). Hiring her as commissioner would be a brilliant move to quell any "old boy, white man network" rage that will soon be heard. She would be at ease handling and negotiating with the owners, union and players.
Make Condi the face of the NFL. NOW would welcome it, the African-American community would rejoice, the Players union would be happy, and the public would be relieved as confidence restored... and the NFL would make an historic choice.
If not Condi, the perfect candidate, who is your choice?
Why the F is everyone acting like it was Goodell who punched the girl in the elevator? Great idea for Condi. Let’s have a NFL commissioner who never played football. Why not appoint her the head of NASA? She wasn’t an astronaut either so she’s totally qualified...
Source,please.
What qualifies Condi Rice to run the NFL?
How about you come and wash my car. I don’t work for you, junior.
If I was a Facebook junkie I’d “unfan” them...the NFL is on it’s last gasp.
So is at least one NCAA coach. What’s your point? Now, if you were to say she is unqualified, I would probably buy that.
What an idiotic idea! That “political correctness” snake has turned about and bitten Goodell in the ass! Good! But, appointing Condoleeza Rice commissioner will accomplish what, exactly? I mean, who really cares?
LMAO :D
That is a perfect way to put it!
Having dealt with thugs at the international level?
And what round was Goodell drafted in. I bet Condi Rice is a better athlete then the last few commissioners combined. I nominate this poster as Mongo of the Day.
Looks like someone agrees with your ignorant comment..............
Goodell's career in the NFL began in 1982 as an administrative intern in the league office in New York under then-Commissioner Pete Rozelle a position secured through an extensive letter-writing campaign to the league office and each of its then 28 teams. In 1983, he joined the New York Jets as an intern, but returned to the league office in 1984 as an assistant in the public relations department.
In 1987, Goodell was appointed assistant to the president of the American Football Conference (Lamar Hunt), and under the tutelage of Commissioner Paul Tagliabue filled a variety of football and business operations roles, culminating with his appointment as the NFL's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in December 2001. As the NFL's COO, Goodell took responsibility for the league's football operations and officiating, as well as supervised league business functions. He headed NFL Ventures, which oversees the league's business units, including media properties, marketing and sales, stadium development and strategic planning.
Goodell was heavily involved in the negotiation of the collective bargaining agreement with the NFLPA and NFL owners during the summer of 2011. He also played an extensive role in league expansion, realignment, and stadium development, including the launch of the NFL Network and securing new television agreements
How about you come and wash my car. I dont work for you, junior.
You could replace Roger Goodell with a Bowel Movement and see an immediate improvement.
Qualified?
Pete Rozelle... never played football, played high school baseball, basketball... was a student news director at a community college, publicity for the USF Dons (college), then worked PR for Rams.
Paul Tagliabue...played college basketball, then was a lawyer for 20 years before appointed commissioner.
Roger Goodell...played high school sports, never college...intern on the NFL office, then PR for the Jets, then AFC president before appointed Commissioner.
Condi Rice... read her bio, boys, if you can... far and away more impressive than any of the others and based on life experience and accomplishments (as compared to the others), too qualified.
But she never played football? BFD! If a white male had Condi’s resume, you would demand he be hired immediately.
I don’t care how she votes... hiring an NFL commissioner, not the POTUS or city council.
ever since the NFL screwed over Rush I want to have as much to do with them as with radioactive hamster vomit.
DEATH TO THE NFL...!!
No, you’re right. Condi is qualified for sure. She’s black, went to Stanford, and plays piano real good. Mongo just pawn in game of life.
Also, does the NFLPA have any double jeopardy agreement with the NFL?
This case does set a dangerous precedent - that the league can punish someone twice for the same offense.
