oscar Pistorius, the South African Olympian who shot and killed his girlfriend on Valentine’s Day last year, was found "negligent" in the killing Thursday, but was acquitted of murder charges before the court recessed for the day without a full verdict..
Pistorius bent over and sobbed. At the hearing's lunch break, relatives and supporters crowded around him, and his uncle, Arnold Pistorius, one of his closest mentors, hugged him fervently.
The rulings stunned many South Africans, including legal analysts, igniting speculation that Judge Thokozile Masipa had made a mistake that could provide a basis for an appeal.
“With all due respect to the judge, but it seems the pages in that big bundle have been mixed up,” tweeted defense attorney David Dadic, referring to the thick wad of documents in her judgment.
Masipa must still deliver a ruling on a lesser charge of culpable homicide.

His whole defense stinks. It’s a black judge vs a white guy. All sorts of stuff would be said if she said it was premeditated by the MSM there.
I think the negligent ruling is roughly equivalent to manslaughter here. The prosecution failed to prove deliberate murder, so this is what they are left with. He is still at risk of a very long prison term.
The prosecution didn’t have a leg to stand on. Okay, okay, I am embarrassed about this post.

If someone was shooting at me in the bathroom, you’d be hard pressed to tell me from a screaming woman.
Seriously, I want to believe that he just made a dumbass mistake. South Africa is a dangerous place, houses get broken into and occupants killed all the time.
Well, I am not sure. You might say that I am stumped.
Brace yourself for this...I suspect he was enraged with her locking herself in the bathroom and said, “you come out now, or I’ll start shooting”
My guess is that the whole episode was the result of a drug soaked night with a little anger thrown in.

In unrelated news, the Judge in this case says that her new BMW fits fine in her new garage.
In the same circumstances, same fear of a real danger of violent home invasions, if you woke to what you thought was a sound of an intruder in the night, and you had someone like this beautiful woman sharing your bed, what would be your first thought as to who to protect? For me, shooting through a bathroom door and not considering her absence from the bed is a poor deflection of culpability and outright admission of a dereliction of duty, at best, murder at worst.
