I’m the kind of guy that would have gotten up in support of him and made a very obvious scene of leaving with him, and calling for other patrons to join me.
Those opportunities are rare, but fun.

When they have to face an armed robber, will they ask him to leave?

There aren’t any Waffle House restaurants in my area, but when I travel, I will make sure to avoid them.

This is just plain stupid, why should guys who have a weapon as part if their job be asked to leave?
To: Rusty0604
My biggest concern is the manager thought it was wise to yell and berate someone that had a visible sidearm. Did he have a magic shield that would stop bullets or is he even more belligerent to those he doesn’t believe are armed?

They were chowder heads.
even offer a police discount.
I belong to the school that says "police discounts" are a form of a bribe and should be discouraged. They may be illegal in some states.

We don’t do that down SC way. Might be a misreport.

I’m with you. I have taken advantage of such opportunities and loved every minute of it.

The one time I visited the place it was filthy and the service poor.
It was so bad I saw no reason to give it a second chance.

I don't know, but yelling across the room at an armed guy when one is not actually armed oneself.... that don't seem too bright.

Wasn't that at a Waffle House where the Iraq vet had a pack of feral negros beat the hell out of him?
You'd think the manager might be appreciative of having a cop or two otherwise armed customers around to prevent that happening at his place?
To: Pontiac
If there aren't paper towels in the customer bathrooms, and the floor is a mess, do you think the kitchen is any better?

Disgusting place.

Yep. That whole thing don't seem terribly smart.

I hope any other police officers that patronize that place find another place to go.
To: Windflier
I forgot to mention another thing that bothered me about the place.
Perhaps yelling is the preferred management style of Waffle House because that is about the only thing that the stores manager (probably the assistant manager since it was evening time) seemed to do while I was there.

I’m surprised this would happen in Grapevine, TX. My wife and I were eating at the Hula Hut in Austin one time, when 4 Texas Rangers walked in wearing Stetsons and 1911’s. Hardly anyone batted an eye.
