Jailed Televangelist Jim Bakker is Back in Business Hawking Survivalist Kits
Daily Mail UK ^ | September 15, 2014 | Maggie Harbour

TV evangelist Jim Bakker says don't fret, he's got everything you need to survive any disaster. His survival kits include everything from padded clothing to buckets of beans to enemas.

The disgraced pastor, who served 5 years for fraud/conspiracy, has a daily TV broadcast promoting his Morningside Church – a Christian retreat and retirement community set on 600 acres of land near Branson, MO.

Of course, Bakker doesn't technically own Morningside. He still owes the IRS more than $6 million in taxes he neglected to pay in the 1980s.

To move out of the red and fund their new ministry, 90 percent of the new TV program consists of Bakker and his new wife and preaching partner, Lori Graham Bakker, trying to sell supplies.

And their big push right now is on survival products, which Bakker calls 'Love Gifts.'

Among the offerings are the Time of Trouble Beans Offer, consisting of 14 totes full of black bean burger mix for $3,000; Bakker's Dozen Extreme Canteen Kit, including 13 packs of ponchos, thermal blankets, glow stick and whistles for $500; and his Survival Food Brick Monthly Club with 90 servings of food for $50 per month.

‘Money’s gonna be worthless when disaster strikes,’ Bakker shouted at his audience the other day. ‘That’s why I am telling you to stock up on food and survival supplies so you can feed your loved ones when that time comes.’

According to Jim and Lori’s website, JimBakkerShow.com, the survival necessities include clothing, water and all kinds of packaged food supplies, mostly dried foods and powders. $1000 will buy you 10 buckets of beans and two buckets of tomato flakes. And for an additional $10 they’ll throw in the bucket opener!

How awesome for him to rebound so well.
He is truly twice blessed, once with Tammy Faye and now this new ministry.

Truly blessed.

Or you can hand over just $400 for one of Jim’s special Lentil burger buckets, a bean bucket, a rice bucket and one rice AND bean bucket. And $3,000 will buy you seven whole years of food packets with a bonus of TWO survival DVD’s – providing your DVD player still works post disaster.

There’s one more bonus if you hurry… A LARGE PRINT Bible – perhaps in case you misplace your glasses while running for your life.

Yep. Surfed across him on one of the channels on my dish.
You’d think he would have learned his lesson.

But that’s not all folks! You’re gonna need a survival suit.

‘Bakker’s survival gear is made out of a sort of Khaki green padded nylon,’ says a source familiar with the line. ‘But by the time you dress everyone in your household – it could cost you a small fortune!

‘You’ll pay $200 for each pair of suit pants, and another $200 for each jacket. And if you’re a plus size… add in an extra $50. The hood will also cost you $50 bucks, and add another $40 for each pair of padded mittens. Of course you can’t forget the boots – they’re gonna add another $50 to your bill.

‘So if you have a family of five, plan on spending about $2700 on each outfit. Of course if you live in the south, you can forgo the heavy survival gear and just make sure you ordered enough food buckets in case the neighbors drop by.’

First off I love your screen name. Secondly as far as “You’d think he would have learned his lesson.”....don’t you mean anyone that watches him now should have learned their lesson? hehehhe

I don’t fault Jim for having people prep, though their prices are outrageous.

*************

True, but you’d think he’d be trying to save these folks money instead of charging a fortune, you know...being the Godly man he is.....

It has been said that those who are living will envy the dead.

I accept that if I am around when this stuff happens that I may very well die. May I die as God’s friend.

So, is my PTL Club membership card still valid?

Also, can I get an updated address to send my checks to Jim Bakker?

Any chance Tammy will be back?

I’m more of a “that already happened in 60-90AD” type, but regardless prepping for the mess that could come upon America isn’t such a bad idea. Just won’t be using any of Jimmy’s goodies. I could build a bomb shelter and stock it full for what he charges for a few months rations.
