Florida State announced on Wednesday that quarterback Jameis Winston will be suspended for the first half of this week's game against No. 22 Clemson due to lewd comments he made on Tuesday. The university released a statement from interim president Garnett S. Stokes and athletic director Stan Wilcox that reads:

You need to go back and read both the police report and the DA report. Tests were done for date rape drugs. The DA report lists in detail over 150 individual drugs that were tested for, including specific date rape drugs (results were negative on all drugs). The testing initiated by the DA were done by a professor at the University of Florida in Gainesville FL, not by anyone in Tallahassee btw.

However, Willie Meggs (in his laughing press conference) announced that the accuser had specifically been tested for date rape drugs.

Suggested causes for the full suspension range from media backlash to more sexual assault victims. It’s being said that FSU didn’t meet Title IX requirements for investigating the last incident. This may blow up bigger that just one game.
It’s also being reported that the full game suspension wasn’t up to Coach Fisher, but was done by the FSU President and AD.
