I'm not disagreeing with your post, except for the obvious bias and deep love you show for the FSU program.../ S

You make a good point about responsibility...

My only point is he did something stupid that affected just the very few people who actually heard him say what he said...

My question is: did the punishment fit the "crime" ...

Also my point is if it was any other player that did this....crickets...

It actually affected the image of the university that pays his way to earn a degree that will support him for the rest of his life. His repeated actions have made the school look bad.

He wanted attention. He got it.

What did the thug actually say that was so damaging?

Interesting you use the word "damaging"

Since you don't know what he did, based on the reaction and news reporting, you would think he actually did "damage" where in fact he did an idiotic thing that basically hurt no one, maybe it "offended" someone, in today PC fueled world, that's just as bad as committing an actual crime...

When one is on a pedestal, it is very easy to fall off. There is no bias about the FSU program or any other one who employs publicly thwarting the rules of the GAME that everyone else has to play by. I have no favoritism in any aspect of the Florida Schools other than the personal responsibility of them all.

I will needle you a bit more in that UF had an athlete who personified personal responsibility and all he got was a barrage of arrows for it from the very same media who can’t find it in their gut to call out the thug for what he is.

Put your biases aside and as an adult accept that what the Ray Rice wannabe, Seafood Bandit and now Sully Pontificate did even after the spotlights were even more focused on him deserves DISCIPLINE, not PROSECUTION.

There was no crime, agreed but your biases are even more obvious than you even care to admit by trying to make it a legal case instead of one about personal responsibility.

LOL...I actually am a Gator fan...if FSU loses every game I could care less...

...are even more obvious than you even care to admit by trying to make it a legal case instead of one about personal responsibility.

Actually, I'm making the point it's really a PC case...gone amuck...

Granted what he did was stupid, immature and dumb...

Not too many years ago, this would be a non-news item..

"College student stands on table and says something offensive" would not be the lead news stories on sports publications...

College kids say dumb things all the time...

Tim Tebow had more favorable coverage while at Florida than any athlete I can remember. He was regularly praised for his character and leadership. The media did not turn on him until someone decided he could not succeed in the NFL. The commentators for college football are much more conservative than those who follow the elite thugs of the NFL. The NFL does not seem to have character qualifications for employment.

From the article......"Winston was originally suspended for just the first half after making 'offensive and vulgar' comments about female anatomy."

No further elaboration.

OK, I’ll make it simple. This is not PC. I’ll let my previous forays into your comments speak for themselves.

Sure, most college students say stupid stuff, all kids say stupid stuff, but not ALL college kids get a free scholarship and are highlighted on every sports venue because of not their academic achievements but only on a physical talent. You become the face of that University and that University has the privilege to sanction that gift as well. If this was not very clearly spelled out before the scholarship was awarded, then it is the University’s fault for not doing so. But I would highly wager that this point was covered on several occasions. Not because of anything else but his continued history of not “getting it” as he continues to show us.

“LOL...I actually am a Gator fan...if FSU loses every game I could care less.”

Hi Rush! I love your show and I agree with everything you say.

. . and nobody in the media ever made any fun of him for “Tebowing” while still at UF. Right. Nobody came up with a new rule that Bible passages were no longer allowed to be on the eye black. Right.

Are you honestly going to say any of that had nothing to do with the media?

Right.

Tebow’s character was noted, only because he exuded it and Winston also exudes his. The problem is that nobody in the major sports media is willing to put Winston’s character on display. To equate the two is balderdash.

The NFL does have character qualifications, the only problem is that money gets in the way of enforcing them.

Winston was never charged for the alleged 2012 sexual assault of a female student, but the university launched a new investigation of the incident this month.

He was never charged because her story had lot's of holes in it...and the university didn't take it seriously because of that reason...and of course the bad PR it would have generated...

If she was going to accuse him of rape and pretty much ruin his life, it better be rock solid...it wasn't.....

I'm not saying they didn't have sex, just that it wasn't rape...

but this should have been a no brainer for the coach

As a side note, Michigan State suspended its star linebacker, Max Bullough, just before last year's Rose Bowl, arguably the most important game they've played in over a decade.........

While it was never disclosed what Bullough had dones, it was for violation of TEAM Rules.........

Coach Mark Dantonio should be commended for upholding the integrity of his football team over the stupid actions of one of his star players......

The media was crazy in love with Tebow. Until he cried. And after he cried was when I first liked him. (Him crying coincided with his team losing. The media suddenly noticed some weaknesses.)

I don’t remember anyone wearing messages in eyeblack before Tebow. I don’t recall the media making fun of Tebow until after the big crying scene. I know people who really didn’t like him because he made such a show of praying in public. The lovefest for Tebow was undeniable.

I hope FSU loses. It is a better lesson at the college level than at the pros. But there are going to have to find some white players to suspend pretty soon because it’s starting to look bad.

“PC wins again....”

PC my @$$, he should be in prison for sexual assault (rape).

Anyone but one a star quarterback and one of Holder’s people would be.

I have been thinking the same. The NFL is merely a microcosm of our culture...lack of fathers, lack of morals, etc...If standards make a comeback there...There is hope.
