It is the time of contract negotiations with the ILWU, and the negotiations are stalled.

I would not be surprised if it was Jihad, but I am sure some government scumbag will quickly come out and say it was not, even if it was.

Ports of Lost Angeles and Long Beach next to each other.
Combined, yields the largest cargo port in the country.

Yup.
And every time somebody here wished for the “Big One” to demolish SoCal — remember that all that capacity will be cut off.
For a long time.

If it’s an old dock with creosote soaked pilings, it’s almost impossible to put out.

It would be better to use firemen to put out the fire.

If its an old dock with creosote soaked pilings, its almost impossible to put out.The smoke from pressure treated creosoted wood is a particularly nasty irritant as well. If the Wind isn't right people in the area will be having a lot of lung trouble. Firefighters might well have to wear breathing apparatus if in the smoke.

“Id never heard of a dock fire before this one.”
Dock and pier fires happen all the time in costal cities. There are many famous pier fires including one just a couple of months ago in England.
Take your tinfoil hat off, everything that happens is not jihad.
