I start a list on my phone of what to pack and then I pack using that list the day before. And no matter where I’m going and no matter for how long, I do my best to only take a carry-on sized suitcase. If there’s any way to do laundry where I’m going, I only bring three days’ worth of clothes. And I am a female, lol.

I went to Europe hosteling with a couple of other girls for four months with two changes of clothes, three sets of underwear, one pair of shoes and one pair of low-heel boots, a pea jacket and a woolen hat. Wish I could be that way now that I'm older. Now, the vitamins and medicines and face creams and makeup and first aid kit and hair stuff take up more room than that one tote bag I lived out of then.

I am a female and I am a light packer too. I’m with you on doing laundry wherever I am. I can pack 1 1/2 wks worth of clothes in a rolling carry on. If I am going to cold weather I will UPS sweaters and boots there and then UPS them back home.....just so I don’t have to travel with them.
