Ebola May Infect Earth's Entire Population by December 1, 2015; 50-75% Fatal
self | 2014-09-30 | UBSOTOS

Posted on 09/30/2014 7:40:47 PM PDT by UnbelievingScumOnTheOtherSide

Here is the math:

Ebola had infected about 4000 known cases by 2014-09-16.

Incubation up to 21 days.

Rate of new infections during incubation period: R2.0 (i.e. roughly doubling)

Population of earth: ~7.2 billion

Number of doublings from initial ~4000 to ~8 billion: 21

21 X 21 days = 441 days from September 16, 2014 = December 1, 2015

Well, that’s it, then. No more corpse-kissing for me! We all have to make sacrifices.

you’re all wrong.
I already know how it ends. I saw this in a movie. dustin Hoffman finds a cure just in time to prevent the fire bombing of the infected town. and, for good measure, Hoffman is able to ridicule the discipline of the military by telling the bombers, “don’t do it just because your following orders”

…so why aren't the "Oh, no! The Earth is overpopulated!"-types dancing with joy?

Cause they never meant anything to endanger them personally. Like all liberal "causes," danger and expense is for the other people.

What makes you think that they aren’t?

Seriously, Ebola is a lousy “plague” type disease because it doesn’t spread easily enough. If worst came to worst, a 24/7 curfew for a week or two would probably break the cycle. Those survivalists might have the right idea here, I think I’m going to put some weeks of water and canned food in the basement...and, maybe get some ammo.

You have what is called normalcy bias.

The facts indicate that this is going to get ugly. Maybe not half the population of the Earth dying ugly, but likely tens or hundreds of millions dying ugly.

What facts? (1) Three week incubation period, during the last part of which the victim is a asymptomatic but still contagious. (2) Airborne vectors (droplets from sneezing/coughing, but not true airborne viable - bad enough). (3) High mortality rate even with supportive care. (4) Survivors are contagious for up to SIX MONTHS after “recovery.”

This is going to be a nightmare. As in Biblical.

But hey, good luck selling your bridge.

In the space of one hundred and seventy-six years the Lower Mississippi has shortened itself two hundred and forty-two miles. That is an average of a trifle over one mile and a third per year. Therefore, any calm person, who is not blind or idiotic, can see that in the Old Oölitic Silurian Period, just a million years ago next November, the Lower Mississippi River was upwards of one million three hundred thousand miles long, and stuck out over the Gulf of Mexico like a fishing rod. And by the same token any person can see that seven hundred and forty-two years from now the Lower Mississippi will be only a mile and three quarters long, and Cairo and New Orleans will have joined their streets together, and be plodding comfortably along under a single mayor and a mutual board of aldermen. There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact. - Mark Twain

Just plain wrong. Cases of Plague still occur on occasion today. It is a bacterial illness easily treated with antibiotics if caught soon enough. Ebola is viral.

I would be scared if I hadn’t already died from AIDS and global warming.

It is curious that all of the cures for these “plagues” is to send the despots lots of money.

Guess I better get on “The Last Ship” or a little island, south of Mexico staffed with honeys to repopulate the earth.

Maybe 40-50 will do.

I’ll catch food all day and build stuff.

There is a researcher (on threads here) that makes a compelling case that the Bubonic Plague was actually Ebola, after examining the texts of the physicians and survivors.

I would like to know the qualifications of this researcher! Ebola is a virus. It has been established for many years that bubonic plague is caused by a bacterium Yersinea pestis. It is transmitted by the bite of the rat flea whereas Ebola is transmitted by contact with blood or body fluids from an infected person. Bubonic plague is named for the swollen lymph nodes (bubos) that occur in the early stages of the disease. What caused the devastation during the Black Death was the progression of that form of the disease into the form known as pneumonic plague that can be transmitted rapidly from person to person through aerosol inhalation.

Nonsense. The facts up to this point indicate you have no idea what you’re talking about, but go ahead and continue with your alarmist rhetoric if it makes you feel better!

They own the genetic map of the virus. This means if they create the cure they can patent it. It doesn’t mean they produce the virus.

They are NOT contagious until they are symptomatic. So, this guy was here for a couple of days before spreading it. Then he went to the hospital. They sent him home. Spreading this all around his house. My guess is that his “relatives” are under lock and key for the next couple of weeks.
