He’s still a figure head for pay and pimped the movies at every turn.
Mostly they just pay him for the name, he is the best known guy in comic history. And he loves to talk about comics. But nobody runs stories by him, there’s no reason for them to tell him what’s going on in the comics when he’s out to shill the latest movie. They’ve got over 100 different titles on 6 different imprints, in multiple universes that might or might not overlap. Knowing those story arcs is more than one full time job which Stan doesn’t have, hasn’t had since Nixon was in the White House, and doesn’t want.
Actually I think it would do pretty well. They had run out of ideas of what Thor could do, this will open up new stories. Remember, this isn’t the Nordic god Thor, this is the comic book character Thor (the actual Nordic myth Thor had red hair for instance)
Well, it’s 4 years later we should be able to find out if it worked.
It was good enough as a short storyline.
