If the Rams or Raiders are moving to L.A., they might consider a mascot name change to suit the local culture:

How about better stadium deal and a potentially WAY bigger fan base?

Wow, you are the first person on FR who knows how to spell “Washington” correctly.

But San Diego doesn’t suck anywhere near as much as Los Angeles...

The problem is that no one except for the NFL and a few wealthy interests really cares about having a pro football team in L.A. Using taxpayer money to build a stadium for a wealthy team is a political non-starter here.

I think the two competing LA projects were both self-financed. The problem will be with the enviro-Nazis in the state that will delay and delay and delay.

I am SO SICK of taxpayers subsidizing stadiums "for the good of the community". In Cuyahoga County, we pay an 8% sales tax because of the supposed dire financial needs in the country.

So what do the county councilpersons do? They vote by a small majority to give a few million to a new super scoreboard for the Browns. Yup, they used the ol' trick of everyone who could get away with it voting for it.

It's all such a scam for taxpayers to subsidize millionaires. Why not just sell shares of stock to build and maintain stadiums?

They were 'good' only one year (1979) and that was largely because of a fluke.

I can't even stand to see their team logo and helmet graphic. Provokes instant disgust.

Five division championships in a row, and several NFC championship games is NOT a "fluke". They might have even made it to more than one Super Bowl had it not been for that fact that the Vikings played outdoors in those days, and when the Rams finally had a home game, they played in mudslides.

Great defense. Great offensive line.

Oh, and the Rams INVENTED the logo'd helmet. The rest of the league (except the Browns) copied them.

You should live your next life in Cleveland or Detroit.

It's all such a scam for taxpayers to subsidize millionaires.
And it's not just the owners who are millionaires. Almost every player in the league is a multi-millionaire or close to it.
Why they don't get tapped to fork over a few bucks to support the GAME they play, is a crime too.

It’s not just the owners and players who don’t need subsidizing. Going to a football game....the cost of tickets, parking, food is way out of reach for a majority of people who are being taxed to pay for it.

Old Stadium. Then NFL owners are using LA to get new facilities built.

Once a team actually moves to LA all the other teams lose their way of threatening cities with a move to get a new stadium. What city is going shake their taxpayers for cash with the threat of the Portland Bills or the Portland Vikings (Portland, Oregon is the next largest metro area after LA without a team nearby)?

San Antonio, Portland, St. Louis if it loses the Rams, San Diego if it loses the Chargers. There's always another sucker somewhere.

LA has lost 3 professional football teams.

I am a true blue Chargers Fan. I realize they started as the LA Chargers in 1960, and moved to San Diego in 1961. If they “return” to LA, I will get rid of my jerseys, and stop following the team.

Now, if the Rams and/or Raiders go back to LA, I’m fine with that.

“Raiders” is already okay with a million Angelenos, notwithstanding their ethnicity.

I personally would rather see the Rams come back.

Maybe they'll return to wearing Dodger Blue jerseys -- that way you can keep wearing the Navy ones.
