Oh, dear! DP was just in those parts, in Austin, until yesterday.
Pat is tidily-trimmed and having a shower.
Mom feels guilty because, in spite of being with him almost every day, she wasn’t able to get Dad the care he should have had. It seems as if, at the facility where he was living, they weren’t even trying very hard.
Your mom has no need to feel guilty. Unless she was with him 24/7, she had no idea of his real needs. That is not her fault. She made the best decisions she could with the information she had.
Please convey my prayers to her. She will overcome her second-guessing.
That’s what I told her, and I’m sure my brother said the same. He looked over the facility with her before Dad moved there and thought it was okay, and Dad was doing alright there last summer.
I think cost-cutting took over, resulting in declining numbers and quality of staff.
The declining numbers and quality of staff is what I face. If I am so lucky as to get someone who is good, they quit because of the patient load. Not fair to those of us who need them, but that’s the way it goes.
I’m sorry your dad got caught in the shuffle.
Maybe the current situation could have been put off ... but at least he’s safe and comfortable now with “the Maries.”
I have high hopes for your dad, and please thank the Maries for being so caring. We need more of that.
We’ve been sent some very fine people during this experience. Mom said one Marie is from Haiti, and she doesn’t know about the other.
I have to go to bed now: DP and the teens come back from camp tomorrow with their laundry and their late hours.
Sleep well, T-c, knowing that God knows all things from the beginning and He has Control of this. Accept his Grace and understand that He never gives us more than we can bear.
(There are arguments to that, but they aren’t logical!)
Yes.
History will be as kind to 0bama as it has been to that eagle-eyed watcher on the Titanic, who was on the alert for potential dangers up ahead.
When all of your visions come from the books you've read in the past, and current events continue to catch you by surprise, you are not a "leader".
Allow me to assist in furthering your speculations RE: Mars.
Your attention is directed to the curtain to your left. Behind that curtain Door Number Three is concealed. Go ahead, open Door Number Three. Upon doing so, you can join Dr John Brandenburg in espousing yet another loonie leftism about Mars...Ancient Martian civilisation was wiped out by nuclear bomb-wielding aliens
The rest of us have our popcorn...
There was a lot of rust.
Ancient Mars, back when it had oceans, still had a lot of arable land area. Two nuclear devices would have been insufficient to do much damage to a global civilization.
Losing its atmosphere over thousands of years, on the other hand, would have been breathtakingly catastrophic.
Those aliens can do anything.
The Claws are great with this young one. They are almost as big as the entire babeh kitteh!
Be afraid. Be very afraid!
Cutness and claws. A lethal combination.
And yet, we bring them into our homes and serve them. What’s up with us?
