A former child actress who played Mel Gibson's young daughter in the 2000 film The Patriot died July 19 in part as a result of huffing, Texas Authorities revealed Monday.

Tests reveal 21-year-old actress Skye McCole Bartusiak had muscle relaxers, painkillers and a chemical refrigerant difluoroethane in her system at the time of her death, reports TMZ.

• Bartusiak's mother had previously suggested Skye had a seizure and choked while no one was around to help her

While in junior high we had several shop classes.
Metal, wood, print etc.
In wood shop there was a paint booth.
Stupids would go into specifically breath deeply the fumes from the paint.
Would make them nuts high.
While it got them high it lasted only a short time.
They graduated from paint fumes to model glue they’d put on rags.
The rags in a paper bag and then put their mouths over the open end and breath in deeply.
In no time these stupids became much more stupid as it destroyed brain cells.
Today the stids have graduated to more potant crap like air conditioner coolant etc.
You have to be one serious dumbass to do this.

Some kid in my local town did this - after purchasing cans from WalMart - drove through a crowd during a 4th of July get together and injured alot of people permanently...he's punishment did not fit the crime...

I had two childhood friends that got into the super glue huffing etc.

One went to the state boys school the other ended up in prison.

Cooked their brains for sure.

I was a bit of an idiot in junior high and admit to trying drugs including sniffing white-out and maybe some glue a few times. Wonder how many more brain cells I could have right now if I didn’t do it...Kidding, sort of :/

When I was younger a kid died doing this; he placed a plastic bag over his head and sprayed the fumes to fill the bag. When he lost consciousness, he suffocated in the bag.

Sad; he came from a decent family...
