Not a Bad Guess to say Adrian Peterson is Finished

Almost forgotten in the uproar over the brutal ‘‘whuppin’ ’’ that Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson laid on his 4-year-old son is just how great a runner Peterson was.

I say ‘‘was’’ because it’s not certain Peterson, 29, will play in the NFL again. He is out indefinitely, with pay, as he awaits trial on charges of reckless or negligent injury toward his son. The trial tentatively is set for Dec. 1, too late for him to return and play this season. If he is found guilty, he could receive a prison sentence of two years and a $10,000 fine.

Commissioner Roger Goodell could ban him from the NFL. Or Peterson might be too out of shape or too old to return.

I hope these "studs" will wake up and become someone worth being.

The message is clear; No more Biblical upbringing of your own child.

How else will we continue the Travon Marin image of Blacks?

I had to fetch my own switches when I misbehaved. I’m surprised the EPA didn’t come after me for deforestation.
From the reports I’ve seen, Adrian Peterson was trying to be an involved father in the upbringing of his son.

Actually, his conviction would be doing the Vikings management a favor. He only had a year of two of gas left in him anyway, and they wanted to avoid paying the last year on his huge contract. Cutting or trading him would have been heavily resisted and I’m sure they were hoping to find a way to dump him without incurring the wrath of the fans. This would do it for them.

As a Vikings fan, I loved to watch AD run with the football, but I know it’s going to take a few years to re-build under Zimmer and Bridgewater and it was unlikely Peterson would still be around for that new era anyway.

Seriously? You really need to see the picture of Peterson’s son before your start defending hm.

Didn’t you get the memo? Scattering your seed abroad and then turning up to beat a kid into line is Biblical! (/s)

Seeing the photos I would think it may have been excessive. He may not have meant it that way, but whips do lots of damage, especially on naked skin.

I personally would stick to my own hand.

When AP beats this for what it is; a rediculous charge, his team of lawyers will get a very nice retirement ‘settlement’ from the NFL.

Thanks, but no thanks. The man whipped his son like a mule, slicing open multiple wounds on his legs and scrotum. That is not being a father, that is being an abuser. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near his son.

In most states corporal punishment is legal as long as you don’t leave marks. This four year old was ripped up by a big powerful professional football player. Criminal.

The Minnesota Vikings running back had at least five children out of wedlock and could have had as many as seven, according to one of his ex-girlfriends.

“Let me blow all your minds. The boy who died was my son.

“Yes, A.P., he was the biological father, but I raised him and he carried my name. Tyrese Robert Ruffin. I don’t blame A.P. for not really caring cuz him and I both found out recently who the biological father was.

“So yea this isn’t all out yet but I’m sick of the poor A.P. s-–t. He didn’t know or even meet my son. Sorry for the outburst but [put] yourself in my place." http://nypost.com/2013/10/17/adrian-peterson-could-have-7-kids-ex/

"The message is clear; No more Biblical upbringing of your own child."

I think this is all a part of satan's plan to bring children under the control of the government (Read: Satan's Council). This will eventually neuter parental control and biblical teaching.

Let me put this nicely.

Your scenario does not apply to Adrian Peterson’s case.

The message is clear; No more Biblical upbringing of your own child.

The only "biblical" context Peterson would fit into is Sodom and Gomorrah. He is a despicable person who sired 7 illegitimate children with 7 women in 5 different states. One of them was murdered by an ex-boyfriend last year and the vile Peterson didn't even know the kid was his!

The fix of government interference is a thousand times more dangerous than not doing anything.

There is a great deal of circumstantial evidence backing up my assertion, and at the same time pointing out the danger of your position.

I point to the millions who died during the last century at the hands of governments who knew better than the populace how they should live.
