When protesters first swarmed the streets of Ferguson, Mo., earlier this summer, they blamed the death of African-American teenager Michael Brown on racist police brutality and decried law enforcement’s response as evidence of the militarization of police in their community. After another black teenager was shot to death in an altercation with a police officer in the metropolitan St. Louis area earlier this month, protesters again took to the streets.

This only shows that the shooting is not why there are protesters. This is the new occupy protests created by the democrat party.

Walmart is plenty big enough to absorb the loss of the store.

Bring on the Furgeson Food Desert!

It is past time to start negotiating with these guys about like Bruce Willis negotiated with the Mangalores in The Fifth Element. It is all they understand.

Walmart was founded by a Southern white guy which is reason enough.

WalMart is plenty big enough to absorb the loss of the store

And not the type of outfit that will keep the store open if it becomes unprofitable. That could easily happen if shoppers opt to go to other WalMart stores.

they should reconsider.
walmart brings people lots of merchandise at low prices, increasing the customers’ standards of living appreciably

not everyone is lucky enough to have a local walmart they can shop at (really!) and Ferguson has two!

unfair!
unfair!

Wal-Mart does not have to do business in Ferguson. Retail deserts have been created before and can happen again.

There seem to be a number of fools who believe retailers are obligated to provide convenient shopping at attractive prices. Ha!

I remember the riots in the 1960s when most of the grocery chains just closed down affected stores once they were burned out.

I wonder, I don’t know any facts on how Walmart employees vote but the few that I know and the many times that I make subtle political remarks with them in the stores, leads me to think they tend to be pretty sane.

Nothing in the article about the second St Louis area shooting coming after the knee grow shot first at the cops. This is nothing more than a high tech lynch mob now specializing in extortion. And the appeasement of the St Louis local government only makes crime pay. They deserve what they get when they bow down to these heathens.

Yep. We have some neighborhoods around here that still don't have supermarkets, pharmacies and the like. I don't blame any business for just saying, **** you, and just close down.

Wal-Mart really hates to be pushed, but unlike many, they fight back. For instance, Wal-Mart has a corporate policy that they will not settle lawsuits, but will fight. This matters because they are sued on average once each hour. The vast majority are fake slip-and-falls, which Wal-Mart video records, getting the lawsuit thrown out quickly.

Since they have cameras taking pictures of their customers, I would not be surprised if they invest in facial recognition software. Then, if they get a positive match of say a protester or shoplifter, their loss prevention guy approaches them, notifies them that they have been banned from Wal-Mart stores, and if they enter any Wal-Mart, the police will be summoned and they will be arrested for trespassing.

Because most of them are not very mobile, being blocked from four or five Wal-Marts in their area is enough.

Quit calling the scum who looted and burned stores “protesters”. They were rioters, looters and arsonists.
