Friends it's Sunday night again, and time to relax. Warm up the tubes for another four hours of classic radio Americana.
*tonight's show will be available at the "Info" link starting tomorrow.
I missed the first 20 minutes or so of Johnny Dollar this evening.
But it’s almost as if I hadn’t missed anything at all.
The writer sure can drag out a simple story and make it last a long, long time, can’t he...
Sometimes I think the real story in JD’s are in the color of the story, the details, not in what actually happens in the matter. There don’t seem to be a lot of twists.
Well, maybe I’m wrong about him, but over the years I get this “vibe” that he’s kinda cynical about the Americana of the show, because I imagine he’s a liberal. I’m probably wrong, though.
But, that marinade sounds primo!
Oh, that was waaaay too easy. You don’t cripple a guy’s hand, and he just says hoohah! Let’s have a drink! But, it’s a nice Hollywood story.
Well he was a good guy before, and his hand will heal. It woke him up. Could it have happened? Sure IMO.
GS has a lot of endings that “just are”. Maybe this episode isn’t the best example but some have almost no third act/conclusion. It’s a statement of how the West was. At first I found this annoying, now I’ve come to “get it” and think a little on it.
GS really is one of the best OTR programs.
Gunsmoke is just about the best.
I’m heading to the radio and may post again. Are we getting Suspense? Seems time is short.
The time is truly short, Vision. God bless you, and good night.
