KY and GA are holds, not pick ups.
But WV, MT, and SD are GOP pickups.
That leaves us with a 53-47 majority if we get AK, AR, LA, CO, Iowa, and don’t lose Kansas.
I think GA is safe.
If the national GOP momentum is really strong then we get NC and/or NH which could bring NM and VA into play (if those are even close then it’s a big GOP night).
So if the Dems are only implementing their usual fraud then I don’t see them successfully stealing more than maybe one race- which will be obvious- although nothing done in the aftermath.
See Al Franker for proof of that.
Also something that seems to be forgotten- the 2016 map will NOT favor us- so we need as much padding as possible.
If we get a solid nominee and the presidency then we will need at least 50 in the senate. So every seat we get this time is critical down the road.

I remember reading Conscience of a Conservative. It started my interest in politics. I certainly do not understand his support of gays in the military except to say maybe we can blame it on old age.

NC is dependent on the Univision vote. Very difficult to call.

But they do favor it and I have to give them credit - they are not being shy about it or lying about it. They candidly and openly have voiced their support. So in 2015, coming to a Senate near you - amnesty. They won't call it that, but that is what it will be.

Of course, it may be moot considering the Exec Order ready to go.

Would you believe I read today that Bob Corker is publicly stating that he is eager to make deals with Obama (shudder)?

Having stated all that, I still can't wait to vote Republican since that is the only way to express any anti Obama sentiment. So that means everyone will have to make their voice known to the 2015 Senate class.

I was youth for Goldwater in 1964. Barry disappointed a lot of us in later life but he founded the modern conservative movement.

Yes I was disappointed that he took those positions, but I can also say that I proudly supported him in 1964 and have no regrets over that decision.

Whoops, you’re right (KY and GA). I must have been using Common Core math or something, LOL.

I think the GOP is going to get clobbered in 2016. It’s going to earn that clobbering, too. Funny thing is, I think the party leaders want to get clobbered in 2016, and will be relieved to resume the role of faux-obstruction party.

I can agree to a level, but why he picked that one is weird.

I was heavily involved with the Air Force then and it was a bit of shock to hear it from him. Nobody believes cohesiveness between ranks can be achieved when sexual abnormality exists.

It is stupid and it shot his reputation as a smart thinker.

I believe I remember at the time, one of Goldwater’s grandsons was gay.

He was in his mid 80’s when he endorsed gays and so forth.
He became less conservative and more libertarian.

He certainly did not need to endorse making the military a sexual social experiment.

The Republicans should also add seats in the House of Representatives, that should enable the Republicans to hold the house after the 2016 election.
