I’ve always loved Deion and now love him even more. Of course it’s a choice. Why would they choose, Larry? Why did Lena Dunham’s sister “choose” to be a Lesbian? Because Dunham allegedly abused her and distorted her mind. This is so common. I have a college friend who was raped by an uncle. His compulsion to be with men is something he fights every day, although therapy has enabled him to live a hetero life. The lies and refusal to speak basic truths is destroying our once-thinking society.

Everyone is born a sinner and everyone has their pet sin. Whether they act on that sin is always our choice.

Gay was a choice among the Weather Underground and early NOW feminists. Encourage others to engage in it to “smash the patriarchy” and “smash monogamy”.

I remember this joke about some guy sitting next to a preacher on a plane. The stewardess handed the guy a cocktail and asked the preacher if he would like one. The preacher responded, “Why I’d just as soon commit adultery than to have liquor cross my lips!”. The other guy spit out his drink and said, “I didn’t know we had a choice!”.

King then said, “I don’t know why, who would choose it?”

This is the old reasoning, that being gay was difficult and shameful and so why would anyone ever voluntarily make a choice to make their lives so difficult? But in todays world, where is the discrimination? Where is the backlash? Frankly, gay is trendy. In some cases it's even an enhancement (hello, hollywood!) so this whole argument is shot to pieces.

But I'll play ball. The proper response is "People choose to do self destructve things all the time. Why would some married people choose to have high risk affairs? Why would some people choose to get inflammatory tattoos on their faces? Why would some people choose to get hooked on heroin after all that we know about its effects now? Why would some people choose to punch a cop? I can't say, but I do know it happens, people make those choices, and they weren't born that way. Because people make poor choices is no evidence that they really didn't have a choice."

Human being have free will; many also have genetic dispositions toward various behaviors, some of which are good and some of which are bad. A natural consequence of God having given the human race free will is that things on a human scale won't always happen according to God's macroscopic plan.

Since even a willingness by God to force the human race to conform to his plan would completely negate the entire concept of free will, I see no reason to believe that everything that happens in the world does so because God wills it. Rather, things are as they are because God gave people the free will to make them that way. God can and does call upon people from time to time to be instruments of his will, but some people don't always answer the call, and even those that answer it don't always succeed in their efforts.
