In this example there was another deputy present who should have arrested Glans or at least reported him. Neither of these things happened.

Sad state of affairs that with former (as of today) police officer, who swore an oath to the public he was supposed to serve, who was caught on tape physically assaulting a man who exercised his Constitutional rights against illegal search and seizure, who clearly has anger management issues, who abused his badge to such a degree that they fired him, who engaged in exactly the abuse of our liberties that we have long feared (and are now a reality), whose wife made statements to the media that clearly made excuses for his behavior and was recognized by members on this board as akin to battered wife syndrome, and who has had an alleged acquaintance of the family say on Facebook that they believe the wife and children are being abused - that with all of that - we are worried his feelings might be hurt and he will sue someone for libel.

He is now in custody. Amazing. I am actually very encouraged and heartened that the authorities in Saratoga County NY took such decisive, firm, and quick action against him.

And EVERYBODY should know where exactly this Morally Bankrupt provider works so as to NOT further enrich this MORALLY BANKRUPT FAMILY.

Hell her defending these acts should DISQUALIFY her from EVER working with the Public in Any Way.

Three Saratoga County sheriff's deputies were there, a local TV station reported earlier today.

“The investigation into the situation is still ongoing. Although Sgt. Glans resigned, there were two other deputies on the scene during this incident, neither of which came forward until after the video surfaced. Zurlo says they are still being questioned and the matter is still under investigation.”

I know several departments that record all interactions with people. They have uniformly reduced their incidents of civilian complaints and increased their incidents of drunk driving convictions.

The cops behave better and the criminals convict themselves. No need to beat innocents or behave like jackasses.

Classic abusive victim response——there are always reasons to justify the abuse which the abuser heeps on the victim or on other victims.
