Yeah, forgot about Exile. it was downhill after Mick Taylor left.

I got the Celebration Day CDs and DVD. Plant's singing was tentative at first, but when he warmed up... wow. JPJ's playing was spot-on and heavy. Jason Bonham did a good job filling his dad's shoes.
Page... well, he looked like a drooling, doddering old coot. Still had some good stuff for the most part, but overall... eh.
Besides, I hear Plant is a Christian now and does a lot of more subdued, traditional blues in smaller venues. I'd pay to see him in that kind of gig.

These old bands will not have a legacy to destroy when the last person who remembers who they were dies. I think it is a little like “ publicity”— they say all publicity is good publicity . If one new person takes the time to compare the real stuff with the fake, maybe that puts off the day of reckoning for a while.
Getting old has its downsides...

Generally I’d agree, but Zep and Floyd will outlive their members. I’m not a super fan of either, but their contribution to Rock music is historical.

Yeah, I saw the video of the Kennedy Center Honors for LZ. Ann and Nancy Wilson ought to be ashamed of themselves for the schlock rendition of Stairway to Heaven that they foisted upon that audience. There was one shot of Plant, and he seemed to have an expression that said, "Oh, dear God. Couldn't they have found someone else?"
Don't get me wrong. Heart's music was pretty good at first. Then after Little Queen, they followed the same schlocky, milquetoast formula that caused Styx to fall off he map.
Yeah, the Wilson sisters really trashed that song.

Good. It’s depressing to see 70-year-old “rockers” take the stage. Not only does it look pathetic but it makes me feel old.

“These 35 concerts would not be done in front of people? “
My remarks are about Jones, who plays with Seasick Steve as I said.
I don’t know why Plante refuses.

Page looks like an old Japanese man now.

Don't get me wrong. Heart's music was pretty good at first. Then the Wilson sisters broke up with the other guys in the band and it was all downhill. Then Ann replaced her boyfriend with food.

In August I saw Pat Benatar at a small venue (1500 or so people). She was better than she was in '83, and the crowd absolutely loved her. I went alone and was glad for it. The sisters that tried to pick me up were a big ego boost too.😜

DVD of the show just came out. I saw it too but lost about the first half hour due to bad local weather at my theater causing the DISH TV feed to go out. I asked for a refund because of that. I probably will buy the DVD.
If you get the DVD “Monty Python Live ( mostly ) do not introduce any new Python fans with it. Go with the older stuff first. The show wasn’t perfect and did rely allot on their fans knowledge, memories, and good graces. Still liked what I saw.
The bit with Professor Brian Cox and Theoretical Physicist Stephen Hawking was total Python;
