I used to raise peacocks, so I couldn't resist. Did you know that they rattle when their tails are in flare? It's quite loud, too.
All my peacocks have gone to peacock heaven, and I just have wild turkeys around here now. They are all hiding.

I have been telling myself for weeks that if my dear SIL starts in I will not engage. My MIL, too. Both the only liberals present. Usually, the SIL will spout off about her latest hot topic. She loves to harp on Walmart at this time of year, especially with Black Friday coming the next day. We shall see.

They need a shelter to get out of the weather. We heated our barn for them, but I’ve known people who kept them with little shelter. In warmer states (such as VA) they get along quite well, and in Florida, Texas, and CA they’ll go feral.
The Blue Indias (common peacock) and Black Shoulders are the hardiest. That is what I had.
Mine were naughty peacocks, however. They were supposed to stroll around and look prettier, thus distracting from the fact that (at the time) I had few flowers. Instead, they seldom came out of their barn. When they did, they ate every flower that I did have and then would poop on my porch!

If liberals don't believe trickle down economics works, why does the pResident say welfare trickles down to help the whole economy?
Satan can take the beautiful love for the poor and corrupt it into an enslaving paternalism that locks them into dependency, or does not address their spiritual needs by speaking to them respectfully of their sins, or does not seek to deepen their spiritual and family lives. And thus the beautiful corporal works of mercy are either set at odds with the spiritual works of mercy or are considered adequate in themselves. Satan can send many to serve the poor, armed with half-truths and approaches that merely bandage deeper wounds without addressing them.

The debate is between making things easier for business, so they have lower costs, so they can sell more stuff, employ more people, who then have more money to buy more stuff, which causes more employment, which gives other people more money to buy stuff, etc.
That is “supply side.”
Leftists believe that welfare and unemployment improve the economy because those poor people spend the money they get, and this means more jobs, etc. Of course, poor people spend thier money on food and other low tier necessities, so there is no trickle up to manufacturing, etc.
I truly have questions about yesterday’s gospel, and whether Jesus, as the least of them, is panhandling and scamming and am I obligated to give? I confront that reality daily between my parking garage and my ofc. By turning a deaf ear am I spurning Christ?
