Twitter users have hit back at the GOP staffer who called Malia and Sasha Obama classless - by reminding her of Jenna Bush's more unseemly moments while her father was in office.
Elizabeth Lauten, communications director for Rep Stephen Fincher, issued a groveling apology on Friday after slamming the President's girls, aged 16 and 13, for wearing casual clothing and looking sullen during the Thanksgiving address.
Calling for the self-professed media expert to be sacked, thousands of people responded by tweeting the renowned picture of George W Bush's daughter Jenna drunkenly tumbling over her friend on to the floor of a frat party, cigarette in hand.
The 2001 photo, which earned the then 19-year-old the nickname Jenna And Tonic, has gone viral with the hash tag '#classy'.

.... myself included .... but you would think she, in her position, would have more sense than to say it .... especially considering the absolute bias the media has. If a Dem does it, it’s resume enhancement, but heaven help any Repub doing the same or in most cases, “less”. Supposedly she prayed about it and ‘quit’ rather than being outright fired ... but we all know how things really work in the DC Colosseum.
I had to snicker at the post about Sasha Obama - she has inherited her mother’s fashion sense. Snort, giggle! Poor kid!
I’m not excusing the Bush girls, but what you do at a private Frat party is not equivalent to what you do at a formal appearance at a White House Ceremony.
If they didn’t want to get properly dressed, they should have stayed away from the ceremony.
All politician’s kids should be off-limit unless they seek the limelight. Palin’s daughter has been seeking it, so she has become fair game.
Bush daughters, Chelsea, and Obama’s kids didn’t seek it.
Imagine the posts here if Obama’s kids were in a drunken fistfight at a party.
Nah, Olivia...Jenna was falling down drunk and you could see her panties. BUT she was having fun and had a big smile on her puss, and it was either a party or some hijinks with her pals!!! And, it was a “one off”. You never see a smile on the face of Mutt & Jeff, and they do wear odd clothes. Wouldn’t mind the clothes, but it is the “sullen” bit that gets me down.

That was an interesting summary. In the notes for Sasha Obama (13), they noted that she ‘has inherited her mom’s fashion sense’. I wonder if they meant it as a compliment. ;-)

Interesting that there are three people in this world Jennie, Alex, and Melanie Eisenhower (all in their 30’s) who have Richard Nixon as a grandfather and Dwight Eisenhower as a great-grandfather.
Of course that’s not as impressive as having a dog’s breakfast of bigamy, plural Islamic marriages and criminality in your family tree, like the current presidential offspring.

I always thought picking on the first kids was below the line. It’s gotta suck to be a first kid, doing your teenage years in public and being dragged out for photo-ops, dates with the SS tagging are probably loads of fun, forget hanging out at the mall or cruising. Leave em alone, they’re kids, and like most of us they’ll probably look back on what they did and how they dressed and say “ugh”.
The classlessness of the Obolas has nothing to do with Jenna Bush, who has grown up into a fine young woman. This is a classic liberal misdirection. That the spawn of these two classless, soulless parasites are lacking in social graces should not be a subject of any debate - the apples don’t fall far from the tree, after all.
