FULL TITLE: 'Prisoners eat better food': Students hit back at Michelle Obama's school lunch program with pictures of woeful servings
School lunches have never been known for being appetizing — but these ones are particularly disgusting.
Students across America are taking it to social media to demonstrate against the school meal rules championed by First Lady Michelle Obama.
They're using the sarcastic hashtag 'ThanksMichelleObama' and posting pictures of piles of mushy lunches, unreasonably small portions and the kind of fare that has some students saying even 'prisoners eat better food.'

Thank goodness we never had school lunches here in Australia. I had a great lunch packed at home for me each day. We also had a shop at school where you could order what you wanted -i.e sandwiches, pies etc but no forced school lunches.
How much does the school lunch program cost? Do people pay for it themselves or is it paid for by taxes? By the look of those pictures it seems like a big waste of money!

The lesson is simple.
If you want to eat better you simply need to be a willing prisoner.

Normal parents wouldn’t want their kids to eat that crap. They’d pack a lunch for their child. Low income kids can get a “free” lunch which if a Republican president was responsible for these meals they would be accused of trying to starve the poor...
To buy one of these “meals” would cost 3 dollars or so.
