The big win by the Buckeyes probably put them into the final four of the College Football Playoff. The rankings by the committee (due in about 25 hours) are likely going to be:
Tide
Ducks
Noles
Bucks

That whirring sound you hear is Woody and Bo spinnin in their graves. The Big 10 is not what it used to be.
Maybe “another good year next year for OSU” when playing Big10 and lower level MAC teams, but they have VaTech on the schedule again next year in Blacksburg. That’ll knock ‘em down a notch, again.
Urban did get the guy fired who was dumb enough to schedule a home game against Va Tech instead of an eastern/central Illinois/Michigan pushover scrimmage. That guy came to the OSU athletic department after working at U of Michigan, where he scheduled a game against Appalachian State some number of years ago.
After leaving OSU a few months ago, Michigan then re-hired that same guy, who then scheduled a basketball game against New Jersey Institute of Technology for this season.
His job status is now unknown. Go “Big 10”. one of the “elite” conferences, ya know.
If OSU makes the final four, then who goes to the Rose Bowl, Mich. State?
College football needs the Big10. Big 10 = Big money.
TOSU played a perfect game against Wisky, a feat that probably cannot be duplicated for another 100 seasons. So the truth about the relative strength of the Bucks versus the rest of college football lies somewhere in the middle between losing to VPI, struggling against mediocre teams, and destroying the Badgers. As an TOSU alum, I support the Buckeyes but honestly believe they are not yet worthy of a playoff position.

No, that was not the OLD days as the Big 10 would not send their champion to Rose Bowl if that team had played the year before there.
Tcu or baylor
From the Big 10
Wisconsin was 10-2 and just lost 59-0 to Ohio State. Ohio State had an early season loss and haven't looked back. They will get in over TCU and Baylor, and that's the way it should be.
I give them the spot over two teams who allowed 58 and 61 points. I just can't get over how anyone can honestly put Baylor and TCU over them at this point. Maybe a couple of weeks ago, but not after yesterday's Big-10 championship, AND the lack of a Big-12 championship game.
As much as I hate to relive this past season, my beloved Texas Tech was creamed by TCU and then Baylor only beat us by 2 points, so I see why it is such a mess for rankings but the Big 12 championship should be clear.
I hope OSU will be Top 4 but I’m not sure they will. Even if they get in there are issues.
And now most likely both are out.
Maybe they could play each other again in their Bowl Game.
It seems from looking at the rankings that there is a clear distinction between the teams with 1 loss and 2 losses. This year I would have put 6 teams in the playoffs. Let the numbers 3-6 play their way into the semis. If some year there are 8 teams have 4 first round games. I think most major stadium,s could host a game with two weeks notice and give the fans chance to get to the game.
Adjust the number according to the rankings each year or face the same crap every year as some great teams sit it out.
As I stated earlier, re_nortex had it exactly right.
Thank God the Committee got their head out of their ass and made the correct call. TCU had no business in the playoff, much less AHEAD of FSU.
And the Buckeyes crushingly dominant win over a 10-2 Wisconsin in the last game of the season which also happened to be the Conference championship game was more impressive than any game Baylor or TCU played all season.
