The First Lady had a pretty special first date with the man who would go on to become both her husband and the president of the United States — and now, Michelle and Barack Obama’s romance is about to get its own movie.

Entitled “Southside With You,” the indie film will follow the young couple on their first date in Chicago’s South Side.

Great. This means that we will, at some time in the future, have many laughs at the expense of whoever was foolish enough to finance this farce. In case you didn't notice what's been happening, the love affair with "The Won" is pretty much over, Sasha, and this will be a major flop.

Timing is everything, dahling. This may have worked in 2007, but in light of recent political developments, “Southside With You" is destined to become, at best, a cult film watched only by giggling stoners pulling an all-nighter watching Netflix.

They need to fictionalize (as most of the movie will be) their first date in Birmingham during the civil rights days. That way, they can show their authenticity by dodging police dogs and getting sprayed with fire hoses.

They could even have a scene where young Barack and Michelle come to the aid of a black man being set upon my white racists. The man later turns out to be MLK. Cue poignant music and roll credits.
