A federal judge on Tuesday threw out a lawsuit brought against Barack Obama by an Arizona police chief who called the U.S. president's sweeping immigration reforms unconstitutional, saying the plaintiff lacked legal standing in the case.
Judge Beryl Howell of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia denied the demand by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio for a preliminary injunction to halt the policies.
Arpaio, who calls himself "America's Toughest Sheriff," filed the case last month, saying Obama had overstepped his powers by bypassing Congress and ordering the changes himself.
Arpaio's lawsuit said the reforms, which eased the threat of deportation for about 4.7 million undocumented immigrants, amounted to an amnesty and would encourage more people to cross the border illegally.
Beryl's 33-page decision said Arpaio did not meet the legal requirements to qualify as a person of standing in bringing the case on constitutional grounds.

Unfortunately, Joe should have waited till Obama’s decree was actually put into effect. If he has to make ANY extra effort in his law enforcement activities at that time, then he has “standing” at that point. He will ha e suffered harm at that time. His can always refile then. Its not over

Any US taxpayer has standing. It’s our tax dollars that these freeloaders are after. IMHO.
He has suffered harm and will suffer additional harm.
I have to admit for years I voted for judges I didn’t know much about, not even knowing what party they belonged to. I do research now when I realized what some judges are doing to our country.
Good news. In a post-Constitutional 0bamanation, these judges can be dismissed by the President without cause.

But, he filed when Zero was talking about his nefarious plan nothing had been signed yet. That was the snapshot of the moment in time before anything happened. It was just in the threatening stage when the suit was filed. The threat was a future one. Not a current issue. You have yo sue on a current issue. That’s why I said he can refile now. That’s unfortunately just the procedural way the law works.
Arpaio already has suffered harm from Obama’s prior illegal acts. See post 11.

He does not have standing at this point.
Why not just defy the Feds and enforce your county laws? If Obama sends troops to imprison you, which he will not, you’d have standing.
