Yeah, “Tomorrow We Leave for Home” is pretty good, too. I think I still have an off-air VHS recording of that episode I made from a local channel circa 1984! The hour episodes weren’t rerun in syndication very much back then, and were much more rarely encountered.
Oddly enough, back in those days, I still used to get a bit of a “Willoughby” experience, as I drove through and explored endless small rural towns, stopping at their old-time gas stations, pharmacies, feed-stores, and such. One of the reasons I particularly related to that episode. I sure miss that America.
Ivan Dixon in “The Big Tall Wish”...
Sterling Holloway fixing a TV set...
James Coburn coming upon an old man in a cave..
Burgess Meredith acquiring super strength ...
Martin Landau waiting for a phone call...
Mickey Rooney as a jockey who wants to be big...
The Christmas one is called “Night of the Meek”; my favorite.
I also wait every year for “Little Girl Lost”, and the classic line:
“Bill’s coming over. He’s a physicist, maybe he can help us out.”
-JT
Theodore Bikel as a very little man...
“Global 33”...”Shoot up a flare or do something!”...
The list goes on and on.....and even the episodes that weren’t very good are light-years beyond most of what is on today
Yeah, that was definitely a good one. Remember the way the TV monitors started to blare with the rantings of the crazy dictator?
Love it!
I like “The Hunt” best of all too.
My favorite is “A Piano in the House” where the player piano makes people show their true selves.
Like the drama critic’s young wife, who suddenly tells him how much she hates him to the tune of “Saber Dance”.
IIRC, the bum as Santa Claus rides away into the sky on a real sleigh with reindeer.
Is that the one with Agnes Morehead? I was trying to think of the one that she starred in and I only remember her swatting a small mechanical thing with a broom...... thought it turned out to be a Martian? (danged memory has failed me again!)
No. It’s the guy who played Jaws in a couple James Bond films, Richard Kiel. Passed away last September.
It's a great little town about 20 - 25 minutes east of Cleveland.
This one freaked me out as a kid. I can't remember the name of the episode.
“Midnight Sun” because Lois Nettleton!
The one with Agnes Moorehead is called “The Invaders”. She is an old woman in an isolated farm who has a close encounter with some aliens. Great episode!! Love the aliens!!!!!!!
The one with Agnes Morehead is “The Invaders” from Season Two.
It’s very good but it i only has a few lines of dialog at the end.
The twist is the invaders that land on the woman’s farm were from Earth.
I think it was “I Sing The Body Electric”? From the 3rd season based from the short story by Ray Brasbury, but I’m not 100 % sure.
Still thinking
Twilight Zone is available on Netflix.
With all the turmoil in St. Louis, NYC, Oakland, etc., the Missouri Ozarks are looking pretty good.
Shhhhhhh! Last thing we need is more tourist putting down roots in God’s country.
Most freepers would be OK but still...
