Two police officers in Wilmington were injured while trying to catch and arrest a knife-wielding 28-year-old Maynard man who had threatened people at a commuter rail station Wednesday.

Authorities say Seth Mather, used a knife to threaten two people near the Main Street train station around 3:40 p.m. The people, who weren’t identified by police, locked themselves in their cars while Mather yelled at them, police said. Mather allegedly slashed two tires.

He eventually ran off, jumping off a train platform as police chased him. Officer Louis Martigetti slipped on the icy platform during the chase, injuring himself.

If he hadn’t been one of Obama’s people, would he have been shot? Just wondering.

Seth Mather - doesn't sound amish, but it is.

Some years ago, I was in London, England, visiting family. A family member was an actress and we went to the theatre district to see her in this play. While we were in that area, a murder happened. A man with a knife killed someone and the body was found while we were there. There was panic in the people and that included the police. The next night we were also there for the play and the cops were doing a “replay” of the murder. (How would you do a replay if you didn't see it happen?) Could have been they did it so they could interview people around, thinking some of those people would have also been there at that time the night before.

At any rate, not long after that, their government considered making it a crime to carry a knife outside your house. I suppose if you killed someone with a knife INSIDE your house, they would have considered banning all knives in the country.

Because the British are so freaked out over knives, I sent a pocket knife for Christmas this year to my 15 year old grandson who lives there. If I lived there, I'd likely have a collection of knives of every sort welded to the front of my house.

NCIS-one of Gibbs rules: Never go anywhere without a knife. I carry one in my purse at all times. Haven’t been flying since they banned them.

Instead of banning stuff, they should encourage everyone to live by the 10 commandments.
