The all-new, all-female Ghostsbusters are here.
Melissa McCarthy, who was already in talks for one of the leads, has signed on for the Paul Feig-directed reboot, and the studio is now negotiating with Kristen Wiig, as well as "Saturday Night Live" players Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Negotiations are ongoing but the quartet are expected to sign on as the specter-seeking, poltergeist-punishing and phantom-phollowing foursome in the reboot, which is eyeing a summer shoot in New York.
McCarthy and Wiig have worked with Feig before, both breaking out with the director's "Bridesmaids" comedy.

There can be only one.
Besides, remember what Eddie Murphy said about blacks and ghosts ?
In the amityville horror the ghost told them to get out of the house.
White people stayed in there.
A ghost say get out, I would just tip out the door!
Lou Walker looked in the toilet bowl, there was blood in the toilet. And said, "That's peculiar."
I would 've been in the house saying:
"Oh baby this is beautiful."
"We got a chandelier hanging up here, kids outside playing. Its a beautiful neighbourhood."
"We ain't got nuttin to worry, I really love it this is really nice."
"GET OUT !"
"Too bad we can't stay, baby !"
destined for a September or late January release..
McCarthy? Then ‘Stay Puft’ will be making an appearance...awesome!
I hope this mess tanks immmediately....I hope it makes Heaven’s Gate look like a blockbuster.
I want to see MLK’s life story with Hugh Jackman in the lead role
Great googly moogly
not interested in paying or seeing this guaranteed fail.
I strongly suspect that when they run this by test audiences, the studio will decide to quietly shelve it, then try to recoup their losses with a limited release on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Ironically, they fouled up with this franchise before. There was a very successful, serious and well written animated series, The Real Ghostbusters, which was quite successful, until some studio suits screwed it up terribly, by trying to appeal to young children, retitling the series “Slimer! And the Real Ghostbusters”, and making it into a juvenile series.
It stank on ice. It soured a lot of goodwill.
But there was some redemption, years later, when they updated the series, titled “Extreme Ghostbusters”, which was even darker than the original animated series, and resurrected the franchise. It was again a big hit, because it was more adult oriented.
Noteworthy was that in the original animated series, one of the writers was none other than J. Michael Straczynski, creator of Babylon 5.
I hope it will spur sales of guns for women, lol. Is anyone of them going to sport a NRA hat, or would that be the villain?
LOL! Excellent.
I’ll go see this right after they make an all-male “Charlie’s Angels”.
Like...never.....
Careful, you'll give some idiot ideas.
Plugs Biden calls dibs on Sabrina.
Egad! LOL!
I’d rather watch a video loop of myself going poop for 2 hours than see this faux-Ghostbusters thing.
Let’s be honest, Ghostbusters 2 sucked. Even if they reassembled the original gang (impossible with Harold Ramis gone), a Ghostbusters 3 most likely would have been terrible. This thing is going to be an all time horrific sequel/reboot/beating of a dead horse.
The Charlie’s Angels re-re-reboot lasted 2-3 episodes. Mercifully, that horse is dead, decomposed and gone with the wind.
I don't even like Ghost-busters I, Never did,
All Female Ghostbusters...???
Ehh... I’ll pass. Ghostbimbos....
I, for one, thank you for this thread. Now I know I’ll be saving some $$$ in the future avoiding this show.
You didn’t like GB I? It’s a classic! Up there with Animal House, Vacation, and A Christmas Story...
