I haven’t read this story, but walking 21 miles would take about 7 hours.
Average walking speed is 2.80 to 2.95 MPH
Is that 21 miles round trip?
Even then, I find this story might be a bit suspect.
“The FReeper doth protest too much, methinks”
You know sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
At 56 I think he is doing damn well!
Well as you didn’t read the story some of the trip he takes a bus. But then you would have had the read the story and when was that ever a requirement before a FReeper commented? ;-)
This guy I hope wakes up the $15.00 an hour clowns!
It's unfortunate that people around here such as yourself are so filled with negativism that you are willing to publicly cast doubts on a nice story such as this......
The banker who befriended him was interviewed on WJR's Frank Beckman show yesterday morning and he verified all the reported facts regarding Mr. Robertson. When asked how many rides he gave Mr. Robertson, it was well over 60.
The entire trek to work wasn't all done on foot, there was a bus ride involved.
When asked about what he knew about Mr. Robertson, Blake Pollock said that he never pursued it since during their rides together Mr. Robertson never gave much information other than the fact that the house he lived in with his girlfriend was inherited by the girlfriend.
And for the record, in the area where he lives, the house is only worth about $7,000................
that I hope works.......
I don't.
Twenty years ago, I did a six week project in Washington DC for my company. They set several of us up in a rental house in Georgetown, but we had to figure out how to get ourselves to the jobsite in Dupont Circle on our own. Some guys bought bicycles, but I just walked.
It was about five miles, and as I recall, it took me a little over an hour to make the hike. I did the same thing every evening after work. Double the distance would have taken me a bit over two hours each way, which is about how far this guy's been hiking to work all these years.
It can be done.
