‘Jupiter Ascending': 9 Terrible Reviews That Might Knock the Sci-Fi Movie Out of Audiences Orbit
The Wrap ^

Posted on 02/07/2015 12:40:09 PM PST by Perdogg

The Wachowski siblings’ “Jupiter Ascending” is not “The Matrix,” according to the majority of critics panning the science fiction spectacle starring Channing Tatum as an intergalactic bounty hunter and Mila Kunis as the oblivious heir to the universe.

The Warner Bros. release has 31 percent “rotten” approval rating from 49 critics counted, so far, by Rotten Tomatoes. Unfortunately, even the 15 reviews the critic aggregator considers “fresh” aren’t very positive.

I can usually tell if a movie is going to suck by how much money they spend on advertising.

Saturn 3... Harvey Keitel, too. I recall going to see this film in the theater. I never saw it ever play on television, but watched a copy of it online in recent years... it was a complete ripoff of the themes in Alien... with a lot of Star Wars costuming thrown in.

"Flash! AH-ah!"

Such a cult classic you couldn't find it on disk (unless you went bootleg) for years. But GORGEOUS. If you remember the original Saturday matinee series of Flash, you remember the sparking, smoking spaceships trembling on their wires. But the costumes in the movie obviously took up most of the budget. Fun to watch every once in a while. Pure camp. Like the original Batman movie.

Dennis Hopper was great in WaterWorld as was Kim Coates. Everything else pretty much laid eggs.

Good Eye!

See what I did there? ;)

Hopper is amusing in any role, IMHO.
