Megan Kelly just updated that the weapons weren’t surrendered, but we’re rendered inoperable and destroyed at the airport before the marines were evacuated by commercial airline. Question is why by commercial air rather than military. I would submit that the weapons were, in fact, surrendered, by the state department’s order to rend them inoperable. Sickening to do this to our Marines or any branch of our military.

The State Department is infested with America Haters and traitors at the highest levels and more often than not sides with our enemies.

This anti-American cuklture goes back a long way before Obama, Hillary and Kerry came on the scene, although they have brought it to new lows.

If the Marines refused to obey the order to surrender their weapons I have no doubt the State Dept., backed by Obama, would have allowed the muslim terrorists to enter the premises, disarm the Marines by force and take any still alive as captives.

Yep. No hit on you. Just one of those things that sets off some Veterans. The important thing is what happened in Yemen. If I was sitting next to Megyn Kelly and she called a magazine a clip, I’d say, “Smooch Penalty”, and hope she said it some more. Don’t worry about it.

1. Leaving equipment behind, even “destroyed”, is intolerable save for intensely urgent conditions requiring immediate evacuation in the face of overwhelming assault. Much can be recovered & gleaned from such abandonment. This smacks of “Fast & Furious II: Marine Delivery”.

2. I’m suspicious of this being “that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.”

3. This emboldens enemies of our friends, wrecking friendships worldwide and condemning many to combat if not slaughter.

4. We are projecting weakness.

The Obama is the Chamberlin of our time: claiming peace & strength while cowering.
Posturing for WWIII commences, traitor at our helm.

Thanks. The first reports are almost always wrong or incomplete. Many times, the follow-ups aren’t much better. But, the great value of Free Republic is that the correct story tends to get out faster and more completely here than anywhere else and it something that we should appreciate and nurture.

I have had to execute a military mission under control of the State Department and I would not wish such a thing on my worst enemy, my heart goes out to the Marines involved.

The military.com article states:

U.S. Embassy Marines in Yemen handed over their M-9 pistols and M-4 carbines before evacuating the chaotic country with diplomatic personnel, the Pentagon said Wednesday.

The Marines also left behind several vehicles at the airport in the capital city of Sanaa before departing on a civilian flight, said Army Col. Steve Warren, a Pentagon spokesman.

The “friendly” government was hardly any better than the Houthi. After all, Hadi was the end result of the same Arab Spring uprising that brought Morsi to power in Egypt. They may have been friendly to Obama but were not friendly to America.

There are lots of indications that they were playing both sides of the fence. Sucking up American dollars as they were looking the other way as Al Qeada attacked the Houthi.

whose command of ordnance nomenclature is probably on a par with Brian (Looking down the tube of an RPG) Williams.

As much as I hate to side with Brian Williams, his comment is basically accurate. The RPG ("Rocket Propelled Grenade") is shoulder fired from a tube launcher.

All 6 threads were posted within 7 minutes of each other. It can take that long for someone to search, find nothing, assemble the post, and submit it.

Usually under this condition it’s understood that, when you see there’s more than thread, you tend toward the one with the most posts - a dominant one or two threads will emerge.

And, BTW, that was a REALLY stupid thing for you to say. Surprisingly petty & childish.

Furious?

Yeah, that’s not a good idea to make a Marine “furious”.

We tend to break things.

Do you not fully realize what the significance of this Yemen event is?

I realize it's significant — but perhaps I don't grasp the full significance… you're more than welcome to explain it.

This was breaking news, and tragic news indicating the perilous state of the US military in the world, and all centurion316 can do is to criticize those of us who looked, found no posts on the subject, organized a post ACCORDING TO THE RULES OF POSTING, AND HIT THE POST BUTTON.

And all centurion316 can do is to rudely criticize us for posting?
